Look at 300, Sin City, Watchmen.. those movies kept pretty true to the comics. The results are that comic fans love the movie and will probably buy the DVD and people that don't know anything about the comic will still probably like the movie.
Movie producers need to get it thru their thick skulls and realize that if they stick closer to the comic portrayal then they'll probably make more money. I am not going to pay to go see wolverine. They've deviated way too much with the x-men series and now this wolverine movie.. I don't care how good the graphics are I'm just so pissed that producers aren't getting these marvel character right.
I mean there's so much good material in the comics themselves.. shit that could be ur script.
However Marvel Studios didn't do a bad job with Iron Man, Hulk and Punisher:War Zone.
But flagship series like x-men and wolverine..they should have adopted the characters when John Bryne was the artist .. when wolverines suit was brown or when he was in Japan.. those were some bad-ass comics.. you think they could have put that on the screen.
I'll stop now.. I'm getting more pissed as I think about it.
