JACKMAN- IS- WOLVERINE..HE WAS BORN TO PLAY THIS ROLE, I CANT EVEN IMAGINE ANYONE ELSE PLAYING WOLVERINE BUT HIM..THIS WILL BE A GOOD DAMN MOVIE. THANK GAWD THEY DIDNT GET TYLER MANE TO REPRISE SABERTOOTH, THEY GOT A GUY WITH REAL ACTING CHOPS AND NOT SOME WRESTLER..AND TO TOP IT OFF, THEY PUT IN SOME X-MEN UNIVERSE CHARACTERS..DEADPOOL, THE WHITE QUEEN, GAMBIT, THE BLOB,I THINK THIS IS WHAT FANS WERE WAITING FOR...

The first pic should have been the cover pic. I think the actual cover pic is kinda lame. I totally dig Jackman in everything he's done thus far that I have seen, he does an AMAZING wolverine and should continue it until HE feels the role is tired.

He should totally get a contract from Marvel/Fox that states "If there is EVER a Live action movie that involves Wolverine/Logan, it should be Hugh Jackman, until what time said actor does not want to portray said character any longer. Until then, there is absolutely NO OTHER ACTOR to play Wolverine/Logan under ANY circustances. This does not include voice acting for toons or Video Games, unless Video Game or Cartoon is based on CGI in which the use of Mo-Cap is involved."

Now for the movie...Hmmm where to start,
Hugh Jackman/Logan/Wolverine - CHECK PLUS.
Liev Shreiber/Victor Creed/Sabretooth - CHECK PLUS.
Ryan Reynolds/Wade Wilson/Deadpool - CHECK PLUS.
Taylor Kitsch/Remy LeBeau/Gambit - Decent.
Dominic Monaghan/Barnell Bohusk/Beak - Check.
Danny Huston/William Stryker - CHECK PLUS.
Will.I.Am/John Wraith/Kestrel - Decent.
Kevin Durand/Fred Dukes/The Blob - CHECK PLUS.
Lynn Collins/Silver Fox - Decent.
Daniel Henney/David North/Agent Zero - Decent.

So yea, judging from the cast and the comic con preview, and the fact that all things X-Men related rock hard core, this will be SWEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

In all fairness; had they made a wolverine movie during the mid-70s, I think Clint Eastwood would have done a decent job. At least looks wise.

As for who would pay 10$ for the mag, Louise Smith ring any bells? Hell she'd pay 100$ if the mag was about her little Tobey, i imagine there's someone somewhere out there that's coocoo over Jackman puffs... at least enough to pay that price. But it sure ain't me. I'll pay 10$ for the movie but nothing else. Not even a tacky T-shirt.

Ha-ha "Louise Smith", nicely done Shaman.

I see they have the claws to a decent length, which is good. Jackman looks great and I'm still keeping my expectations at only X2 level. I'll be interested to see this newer and more polished trailer.

Lastly, I'm still not happy with Will.i.am as john Wraith.

But on a sillier note, good point mrHJK! Like WTF?!?!?! It's bad enough they're makin the spidey musical... got your front row seats there Louise???

Ooh, you know what i like about this picture? His big badass bronco buckle! I'm bettin' he stays on the full 8 seconds! It'd be cool if we could ask Jean Grey if he does but...SHE'S DEAD!!! That's probably the reason...

well dudes as i live in ireland i get the mag for 5 euro!! hahaha..oh wait thats about 10 dollars...

shaman i agree on all of the casting choices EXCEPT gambit..im sorry but this character should have been played by a somewhat established actor..and yes i realise hugh jackman was not established when he was cast as wolvie but ive seen taylor kitch in friday night lights and lets just say, i hope hes got a good acting coach for this movie!

I'm sorry... I won't let this go... I will pay $10 to find out what this "Star Wars: The Musical"? is!
I mean... I love Star Wars, and i love musicals...

NOW ACTUALLY ABOUT WOLVERINE:
I think the movie will be a pretty good action movie.
The main question I have is why don't Wolverine and Sabretooth seem to know each other in X-Men? I really hope they adress this...
parascythe

rorschach01,

according to wikipedia, josh holloway (sawyer of LOST)
was the first person offered to play as gambit in this movie..yet during that time he turned it down due to his hectic schedule shooting LOST tv series...

what do you think?
Shaman
Shaman - 11/28/2008, 7:53 AM
Actually Roar, i believe ION was the one to give us the cast but i think Ryan Reynolds could still screw this one up if the director and producers gave him the "green light" on this. He was horrible in Blade3. Just simply over the top. There is a limit to how much of a "smart mouth" you can have in a superhero movie. See how Spiderman's smart mouth is at an appropriate level. Hannibal king's was extreme. You gotta remember that DEADPOOL is still an efficient assassin and not a freakin' clown!

As for GAMBIT, physically he fits the part but as for talent, i'll get a clearer picture when i get to see the movie. I didn't see Friday Night Lights nor do i care to.

But good point mrHJK, mabe Sabertooth's hair got to his head and clouded his perception or somethin'. IMO, i think we have ourselves a bonified "S" being thrown here! And that is what "logically" happens when you do freakin' origins afterwards. Too many heads thinkin' differently about one thing and that way a lot of details get missed! First of all it's all Fox's fault because Sabertooth always was Wolverine's arch nemesis and he was portrayed merely as a thorn in logan's side in the first movie. Bang up job guys!!! Really...
IonParallax
IonParallax - 11/28/2008, 8:45 AM
Yea, then they killed Sabretooth. Such a crock of shyte. I couldn't believe how much they downplayed and basically destroyed the Sabretooth identity in that movie. Was a total mockery of Victor Creed. They portrayed him as an idiot who couldn't speak and wasn't at ALL efficient in his fighing...WTF?!?!

As for Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds, yes Hannibal Kings part was played way too extreme with the smart ass bits, BUT, Deadpool is a complete clown, funnier than heck, and one of the few characters to break the "4th wall". I think it was a good casting move.

Take most of the smartassedness from Blade Trinity, mix it with the AWESOME performance in Amityville horror, and there you go. Deadpool.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 11/28/2008, 9:18 AM
sorry shaman, id had a few! well remember wolvie had no memory of anything before his new skeleton so that would explain him not recognising creed..and creed prob was supposed to have remembered wolvie (he took his dog tags fore a reason) but because he had exactly 2 lines and singer had obviously no intention of fleshing out his character, it wasnt addressed

also, ion, i dont think sabertooth was supposed to have died in the first xmen..i think they just decided not to use the character again...it would take more than that fall to kill him
IonParallax
IonParallax - 11/28/2008, 10:30 AM
Yes, most definitely it would. But, not only did he die literally, or that was my take on it, but figuratively he died. An atrocity of a peformance and representation of the the most badass characters in the comic book world.
Vex
Vex - 11/28/2008, 10:30 AM
I can't really recall where I heard this but I was told that Sabretooth didn't die from the fall and that during the events of X2 he was the target in a nation-wide manhunt.

But, yeah, FOX and Singer completely made a meal of the character. Hopefully, for the sake of Wolverine's lore they do some justice to Creed this time around.
IonParallax
IonParallax - 11/28/2008, 11:51 AM
I'm sure Singer would definitely like to "eat up" Victor Creed. eh? eh? OK, slam.

But yea, totally killed that role altogether. Liev Shreiber is a good actor and from the preview and what-not, seems to be very pumped for the role, also looks the part to an extent, and he actually has speaking lines. And some kick-ass action sequences, SWEETNESS!
Shaman
Shaman - 11/28/2008, 12:05 PM
Well, seeing as your from Ireland Roar, i guess "a few" to you is what... a keg??? LOL :P

I do agree ION that Reynolds was a great casting call i'm just saying that Deadpool is MORE than just a smartmouth where as his performance as Hannibal King wasn't. He can blow our minds just as much as he can blow chunks. It's up to them to make sure no more "S"'s get thrown.

True, sabertooth couldn't have possibly died in X1 but after what they did with him, i wouldn't have cared if he did. They made him soooo pathetic he wasn't a match at all for wolverine but in reality, he's supposed to be his equal! That's why i can't wait to see his origins! From the trailer we saw at comicon, he's gonna kick ass.

what do you think about wolvie getting back on his mask?
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 11/29/2008, 6:16 AM
yeah parascythe, josh holloway would have been a great gambit, i heard he turned down the role because he felt it was too close to sawyer. i wouldnt mind an alternative costume and mask but seriously, do any of you honestly think the yellow spandex get up would work onsreen. i mean just picture hugh jackman standing there looking all cool and iconic..now, add that costume. sorry guys!
now, heres a bit of a BAD spoiler. sabertooth is wolverines half brother in this movie. WHY? wer did they come up with that brainfart? i know in some storyline creed claims to be logans father but it was always assumed to be just creed playing mind games. anyway im sure it will still be a great movie..but lets not have any more revelations please! like gambit is logans hairdresser!
Vex
Vex - 11/29/2008, 7:06 AM
The cool thing about Sabretooth and Wolverine's rivalry wasn't so much that they were supposed to be equals, because they weren't, it was that Sabretooth could always get the upper hand in a fight unless Wolverine tapped into the animal-side, which he loathed, in order to trash his ass. The idea that he had to do that to win was a cool angle between a win and a loss with Creed. I do hope they explore that in the film.

As for his mask, it could work. Maybe not so much his yellow and blues but his brown and tans, the best costume he's had ever. But if they want more "real" for the film, I'd most likely blend his Ultimates costume with the new X-Force costume. Just for the sake tossing in some color. But I'd really like to see Hugh Jackman sporting the plaid shirt and cowboy hat with his wife-beater and jeans. His Albertan cowboy look is classic.

Sabretooth is Wolverine's half-brother in it?! What the hell, that's not even dipping in the Ultimates continuum. Weak sauce.

well if they are goin to give wolvie a costume hope not the yellow spandex..i prefer the black one with yellow linings...
