The Fate of the Furious has now crossed the $900 million mark worldwide and currently stands at
$908.4 million. From that it has made
$745 million overseas and this means it is the highest grossing movie at the 2017 foreign box office. A significant amount of this foreign box office total comes from China, where it has made a whopping
$319 million alone.
Fast 8 also surpassed
Transformers: Age of Extinction to become the second highest grossing imported film in Chinese box office history just after
Furious 7. It is expected to reach the $400 million mark there in the Middle Kingdom.
Domestically, the eighth film of the franchise made $38.7 million after having a drop of 60.8% from last week's $98.8 million. Its domestic total currently stands at
$163.6 million. It is expected to finish around the $220 million mark. That and its projected foreign overall total will mean
The Fate of the Furious will finish around $1.1-1.2 billion globally.
Meanwhile,
Disney's Beauty and the Beast just opened in Japan this weekend where it made $12.8 million and it is expected to bring in over $100 million from Japan alone. Its overall foreign total currently stands at
