An award winning New Zealand site known as "Stuff" has some new info on the next Indiana Jones film. It seems reliable, but it is not fully confirmed.

Here is what "Stuff" said. There could be possible spoilers.

"Indiana Jones 5 will begin shooting next year, and much of the plot line will be centered around the Bermuda Triangle, an area over the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft are said to have disappeared."

"George (Lucas) and Steven (Spielberg) have been working on a script and it's almost there,"
a source explained.

"Harrison is on stand-by for filming next year. This looks like being an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise, with Indy facing his biggest challenge yet."

"Shia LaBeouf has a central role again as Indy's son but this will be a blockbuster made in the old fashioned way rather than the CGI efforts of the last movie," the source added.

It seems that the next film will go back to the franchise's roots.

back to its roots seems like a good idea. have actual sets and old fashion fights. its true even good directors can admit their mistakes and go back to basics

Okay, so they admit they made a mistake with the last one and are willing to fix the franchise. That's good. I'll keep an eye out on this one.

i didnt mind the last one so much. lots of stupid stuff (monkey swinging) but i wasnt turned off by the aliens. not much more unbelievable than the ark melting people or a guy who can rip your heart out while your still alive. there are indy books and comics dealing with atlantis so not really a bad way to go. less shia for sure though

maybe they should just stop making this movie now before indy gets as popular as the last one they made. or maybe in this one more aliens will come and beam up indy and take him far far away and start the saga of grandpa solo and then have george and spielberg intertwine stories. that seems the only possible solution.

This is the best news I've read on here in a loooooong time.

There was nothing wrong with the last one that couldn't be "fixed" by a change in the audience's attitude.

@theangrytroll: What about Indy surviving a nuclear explosion by locking himself in a fridge? I wish my attitude could erase LeBeouf from the continuity...

Seriously though - I hope they get this one right. I don't really think this one is as bad as people make it out to be, but they better end on a really high note if there gonna go through with it.

mmm...the last one was ok some good bits and some bad bits, mainly the Aliens at the end which let it down for me.

@Joker08: What about Indy riding OUTSIDE a submarine through HOW MUCH of the ocean? Or falling out of a plane onto a mountain in a liferaft? ALL of the Indy movies have had their bits of ridiculousness.

And I have to also wonder about all the hate for the aliens, or "inter-dimensional beings." Temple of Doom was about the search for magic rocks. MAGIC ROCKS!!!!!!

The movie didn't let the audience down. The audience let the movie down.

Regardless the crappy alien in 4, i'd still say YIPPEEEE for this franchise.. Let's just hope Ford doesnt die in the making..

@theangrytroll: I actually loved the alien aspect of the film - I thought that was outstanding. I guess I just can't get past Even Stevens being in the movie - he seriously drives me mad.

The other movies, as far as the ridiculous series of event pertaining to each respective film - the 'rafting' out of a plane, the awning jumps; those were staples in what is considered to the the architype adventure franchise. It's just nonsensical action - you know that it can't happen in actuality - but it's a movie, and it's all good-spirited fun in the context of the film. It's just when Indy goes swinging through the jungle with a bunch of CGI monkies... You've gotta draw a line somewhere.

...And did I mention Even Stevens is in it?

In all honesty I don't hate it as much as most - I don't even hate it. I just felt let down. I walked out of the theater thinking 'That was an Indiana Jones movie?' - anyway... Here's to second chances :)

Even though the last was crap... it was enjoyable. Remember Temple of Doom was kinda crap compared to 1 and 3. So let's hope 5 will bring it back!

The BT angle sounds good, lets see what they do with it. I hope they link it with Atlantis.

first 20 mins of the last one were amazing and very like the old indy movies. i have no faith in this however when shia is involved. also, i [frick]ing hate this idea of bringin stuff "back to its roots" for me it instantly means that ideas have been exhausted and it wont work. please leave us be with our memories of the trilogy? counselling has made me almost forget the 4th one. if a 5th comes out im back to square one :(

After waiting so long for Crystal Skull, there wasn't too much that was going to disappoint me. I absolutely loved the idea of Indy serving in WWII ("Do you have any idea how many medals this son of a bitch has?"), and maybe Indy 6 will explore that some more. It was GREAT to see Karen Allen again, and while Shia's character was annoying, give the kid a chance to be better next time. Were the producers/legends in too much of a hurry to replace Harrison? Why can't we have an older Indy trilogy? Let him have longer hair and an earring in the 60s and 70s....

SHAZAM171, loved the artwork, and I agree with Shaman that the idea of Indy in Japan would be sweet!!!!

Haha Shorty should definitely come back, I'd be all for that! Yeah the only thing I was disappointed in really was Shia's character. Not even with Shia himself but just that character pissed me off. Whether or not Indy was in his life, I just never picture his son being so... what's the word? Stupid? Idiotic? Moronic? I don't know just didn't like that whole character.
