KRAVEN THE HUNTER Star Aaron Taylor-Johnson HAS Met With JAMES BOND Franchise Producers About Playing 007

Following rumours last year that Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) is being eyed to play the new James Bond, a new report confirms the actor has met with franchise producers...and their talks went well!

Understandably, there's a great deal of intrigue surrounding who will ultimately take over from Daniel Craig as the next James Bond, with many fans worried that their top picks - Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and Jamie Dornan, for example - will be aged out by the time the next movie finally begins shooting.

Last year, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson recently said they were looking to find an actor who will commit to the role for the long haul. The latter followed up by making it clear that while they're not planning to cast a considerably younger actor as Craig's replacement, they do want someone who will play this character for anywhere up to a decade and a half.

Someone who would be the perfect age at 32 is Kick-AssAvengers: Age of Ultron, and Bullet Train star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Rumours that he was being eyed for the role first started doing the rounds last year, and Puck (via ActioNewz.com) has now followed up with an exciting update.

According to Matthew Belloni, "The Aaron Taylor-Johnson rumors are true - he sat with producer Barbara Broccoli, and the meeting went well, per sources."

"But while Taylor-Johnson fits the bill - great actor, British, fits the younger direction the Broccolis want to go, accomplished but not particularly famous - he’s about to be a much bigger star. If Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff Kraven the Hunter or Universal’s Ryan Gosling two-hander The Fall Guy works, Taylor-Johnson might end up, ironically, too famous to take on Bond."

Comic book fans already have their doubts about Sony's Kraven the Hunter, so the Marvel Comics adaptation being responsible for Taylor-Johnson missing out on Bond...well, it will just give them another reason to dislike it! The movie isn't scheduled to come out until much later this year, though, so if a casting announcement comes before then, it may not matter.

If anything, a couple of big hits would raise the actor's profile to a point where it's likely to only increase the hype to see his take on 007. We'll have to wait and see, but ActioNewz.com has all the latest Bond updates.

The bright side is that it would save him from being Kraven the Hunter.

They should set the reboot in the 1950s when the books were written. The Cold War is just getting started, Bond is a WW2 veteran, maybe bring back some of the classic villains since they're always just reusing Batman villains: Dr. No, Goldfinger, Red Grant, Emilio Largo, Blofeld (but more faithful to the book). And it just so happens Anthony Horowitz' Bond books are set in the 50s.

Probably a good meeting. But in the end…not what they are looking for.

Good looking guy but doesn’t look very bond’ish. Maybe more of a side kick/ supporting character, than leading man.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 -

Over-actor who nearly ruined "The Nightingale" with his ridiculous mannerisms.

Quite good in Edgar Wright world where his over-acting is an asset.

Boring choice. He’s a good actor but such an uninteresting pick.

At first I was worried that Taylor-Johnson was a legitimate chance, but then I read the article.

It's Matthew "Ezra Miller is just a typical Hollywood bad boy, nothing to see here" Belloni.

His podcast - The Town - is hilariously out-of-touch.

A guy who has absolutely no taste, no pop culture awareness and is susceptible to the most obvious of talking points talk THE BUSINESS of Hollywood.

Last week, he was trying to argue that Margot Robbie (the queen of 2022 flops) WON Hollywood last year.

Just a ridiculous man.

I don't care, as I've been happy with the others (except for George, as I haven't seen his Bond film).

I trust their judgement.

@LSHF - George’s movie is actually pretty good. He got a lot of shyt for being the worse Bond but he actually wasn’t bad.

LSHF - 1/4/2023, 2:12 AM
@micvalpro - He probably deserved more than one shot.

I'll probably see it some day, as Telly always makes a good villain and Dianna Rigg is such a beauty. I remember liking her as a very young boy when The Avengers used to be on TV (yes, I'm that old).
