Jared Harris cast in Sherlock Holmes 2 as Professor Moriarty!

According Latino Review, the "Mad Men" actor will play the Sherlock Holmes arch enemy on the sequel of the 2009 movie.

From what Latino Review says, the "Mad Men" and "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" actor will play the arch enemy of Sherlock Holmes in the 2011 sequel of "Sherlock Holmes" (2009).



Jared Harris, is the son of actor Richard Harris and currently starring as Lane Pryce on AMC's MAD MEN.
The Main Villain of the Sherlock Holmes stories created by Arthur Conan Doyle was briefly saw in the first movie. But he was in the shadows, what would mean that any actor could play him in the sequels.



Harris joins Stephen Fry, Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Noomi Rapace on the cast of the sequel for Sherlock Holmes, that releases on the USA on 16 December 2011

I'm not familiar with this actor but he looks like a villain. I loved the first film though it had room for improvement, hopefully they will be able to pull off a great sequel!

This is great news! I love this guy, he was good as Dr. Ashford in RE: Apocalypse and played a mad scientist/terrorist on Fringe. This should be good.

I hope this is not true. He's a good actor, but damn has he got an irritating voice.

Until it's officially announced who has been cast, i'm still going to hope out for Daniel Day Lewis.

Also, please don't pay too much attention to Latino, they use the word sources for all rumors they come across, to sound like they're more informed about things.

Sure sometimes they may have sources, i'm not going to say they do it all the time, but i have seen fake/false news posted on their site in the past and said they got it from their 'sources'.

Ugh...I wasn't a huge fan of the first flick. It was good, but not great. I'd rather see Daniel Day Lweis or Gary Oldman, but what ever.

are u serious their has been Sherlock Holmes comics. there has been many adaptations of Sherlock Holmes in comics and other form of media. DC comics has done a Sherlock Holmes comic and other comic book companies. even Sherlock Holmes was also in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

This s*cks! Finally Day-Lewis is trying to get a fun action role and Ritchie gives it to someone like Jared Harris! i mean like i previously said Jared is good actor, but seriously i was waiting for someone more known actor!
Downey Jr. versus Day-Lewis! I mean that would have been epic battle!:D

To me Day-Lewis and Oldman are much more menacing than Harris
