@Melkaticox While that aspect is very much appreciated, I think people enjoy the multiplex and contemporary allegories the film provide. George Miller uses precisely every detail, even the practical effects and high octane action, to tell a rather simple story and western callback of... Redemption. A person in Japan would be able to sit and watch the story unfold and even understand because of that forwardness.

@Melkaticox

You are more than entitled to your opinion, but I'd argue the movie had a bit more going on than you might give it credit.

I just appreciated the fact that it relied HEAVILY on visual storytelling, and didn't really hold the audience's hand that much. It just kind of threw you into the world of the film, (and kind of like the characters) expected you to think, make the connections and understand what was going on.

And that's not even to mention the genuinely impressive stunts, visceral action pieces, absolutely insane characters and character designs, and QUALITY cgi!

If you didn't like it then hey, I get that.

But mediocre?

That makes me wonder if we even saw the same film! :P

(And also, calling it "mediocre" is a hilariously ironic choice of words... Was that legitimately a reference? :P )

@Melkaticox Not at all. It's an allegorical tale with many intertwining themes constructed brilliantly through, primarily scenery, emotion and landscape. I'd suggest a a rewatch so you can fathom those thematics but it seems your deadset on it being Meh Max [I tried].

@ALmazing
Release on 9/11 because it's a Friday.
Most films release or re-release on Fridays.
Don't read into it other than that.
Such a cool movie..instant classic!
