Next Two Sherlock Holmes Sequels Mapped Out

Robert Downey, Jr. has said that storylines for two Sherlock Holmes sequels have already been figured out.

According to Digital Spy, the actor told Empire that he would be happy to continue making Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes movies should both film franchises prove successful.

"Between Guy and me, the missus (producer Susan Downey) and Joel Silver (producer), we definitely know what we would like to do for the next two sequels," Downey Jr said. "But I want to add a massive disclaimer: I'm just generally a confident person. I've no idea where anything is going to go.

"To tell you the truth, I would be happy to bounce back and forth between Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark until I am forcibly retired. And also, fortunately, not unlike Iron Man, there is a way to continue along the lines of it and not become increasingly embarrassed by my greying hair and ropey muscles."

Holmes director Guy Ritchie added that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's creation provides "a reservoir of narrative that doesn't dry up over a hot summer".

He is really lucky to be getting these roles now at his age. I must say even though I dont like Iron Man, he was pretty good in that movie.

See, I knew he wasn't going anywhere soon! He's
contracted to do 3 -Iron Man movies, 3-Sherlock Holmes movies
and eventually 3-Avengers! That's the way
they do it in Hollywood now...contracts in threes!
I mean Samuel L. is already signed up to do them all!

This is seriously the best news I've heard in a long time! The guy's one of the if not THE most charismatic and engaging actors in a really long time. Even when he was zonked on whatever he was doing back in the day there was something inside him that still shined through; now that he's clean there's nothing in the way and you're just automatically drawn in. Nothing can stop him now!

Also, you can tell from his interviews he's REAL. No pretention and that just makes you wanna root for the guy. He's earned this.

@All: Hello CBM users! This is my first post here which seems more odd and random to me then I'm sure it does to you. I've actually been coming to CBM since...well a very long while. Let's just say I remember the wee early days of CBM: the Gay Superhero debate is what springs to mind first when I think back on how long it's been. I almost created an account back then but decided not too; and now out've boredom I've finally succumb to the madness! Ha ha.

Very cool. Robert Downey Jr. is most certainly the Man and I'd be more than pleased if he continued as Tony Stark/Iron Man. The verdict hasn't come in yet on Sherlock Holmes. But I'll be keeping an eye on the ole' Detective.
