Superhero movie RA One, featuring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, debuted to $33.4 million overseas. The majority of that came in India, where it set the new opening weekend record with $28.3 million. It also set the Diwali record when it opened on the holiday, which fell on Wednesday, October 26 this year.
The Non-Indian market collections of the first weekend were as follows:

United Kingdom -£910,000
North America - $1,650,000
UAE - $1,090,000
Australia - $340,000

The movie has supposedly cost somewhere between $20-$25 million excluding marketing costs.

Not only The movie clicked with the audience with its groundbreaking SFX/VFX ,it has been upheld by Critics as well. Some excerpts from Top Critics listed at Rottentomatoes with a Top critic score of 83%!!!:

Andrew O'Hehir @Salon.com says " It never feels cynically niche-marketed or fundamentally bored with itself, the way so many big-budget American movies do."

Kevin Thomas @Los Angeles Times says "Anubhav Sinha's exhilarating fantasy "Ra.One" is Bollywood at its best."

Kirk Honeycutt @Hollywood Reporter says "RA.ONE nicely serves two masters -- good family values and good capitalist instincts."

Rachel Saltz @New York Times says "The most expensive Bollywood movie ever made, "Ra.One," a sci-fi superhero thriller, is a kind of entertainment machine set to dazzle, Hindi cinema with a crush on high-tech."

Rob Vaux @Mania.com says "A decidedly different take on popcorn entertainment that gives American newcomers a good sense of what we've been missing."

and so on.

In the year of Superhero films such as Thor, Green Hornet,Green Lantern,I am Number 4, Captain America, X-Men :first Class..Ra.One can stand out..Maybe not a masterpiece but stands out in Bollywood history for its VFX.It certainly deserves its collection and appraisal. One time watch for sure for its popcorn fun value.
