Sam Worthington the New 007?

Just when we thought the Bond franchise was over, Sam the Man is tipped as the next 007.

The HeraldSun website is reporting that Sam Worthington is actually the leading contender to wear the tuxedo of the 00 agent. Back before Daniel Craig was cast in Casino Royal, Sam was among the leading contenders.

The site reports:

"The Australian hunk has become favourite, ahead of Will Smith to replace Daniel Craig as the famed British spy on the big screen."

Will Smith! Wow that is like casting him as Captain America lol.

It also seems that the new Bond girl may be a Slumdog Millionaire:

"Names being touted as his potential love interest as new Bond girls include Britain's Cheryl Cole and Freida Pinto, who starred in Slumdog Millionaire."

Sam is rapidly becoming a common face in Hollywood. I hope he continues his run and with Clash of the Titans appearing in April, his name will surpass more well known actors.

Maybe it's just the roles he's played, but he seems to have absolutely no emotions.Hell, maybe that's what they're looking for in James Bond.He would be the perfect choice to play a robot.In Terminator, he was playing a human who didn't realize he had become a robot, yet the actor is so stiff, he always came off as a robot.

I guess Hollywood doesn't understand excess.Not sure about anyone else, but I'm getting a little tired of this guy.

I find it really hard to believe! I dont think he was even heard of back in 2006!! He would've made a terrible Bond anyway - the character should be played by a Brit just like Cap should be played by an American!

Since when is Daniel Craig not doing Bond? I know the film rights are being sold, but I remember reading that they were prepping to do the new movie with Craig within the next year or so.

Also, give me a break with Worthington, I'd rather watch Ben Affleck as Bond over this guy. Has the onscreen personality of a couch.

Well now it sure is. I'm sorry but there's nothing about Sam that i find box office worthy let alone BOND worthy! He's mearly decent which puts him way out of BOND's league!!!

And what's with everyone wanting to suck Will Smith's colonel lately?!?!?! Why must everyone try to put Will in a role that is simply not for him??? What??? He can't play any other spy??? It HAS to be BOND?!?!?!?!

this whole thing is false. Craig is getting ready to do the 3rd one i saw him in a interview a couple weeks ago for mtv about it. Also When has teh franchised ever been downhill Craig has never been wrong for that role and does a hell of a better job than Pierce Brosnon who is a barbie with a gun. This whole article is either imaginary BS or just a rumor

And there can be a black 007. That charater is non casted in stone as being white. HE just needs to be BRITISH or hahah SCOTISH lol so if there was a black one no one should bitch about it as long as he was a good BRITISH actor.

ALSO whoever you are you must be a newbie and your pissing me of because daniel craig first off is the man and if you were smart you would know that he isnt being replaced. ANOTHER THING if you did your research right you would know that SAM WORTHING had an audition to be 007 4 yrs ago but he didnt get it because his aussie accent and because he didnt have credits to his name. That's all none of it means that he is going to be James Bond anyway ever IF they did go with someone else because of what I just explained. So whoever you are you just read 5 sentences of an article and just pasted it all together. And where do you come off saying that SAM WORTHING is going to save a failing franchise? The franchise isnt failing its doing better than ever. If you didnt like the 2nd TOUGH because it was a great sequel to the FIRST. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER and dont post BS. Im annoyed because i love 007 especially the revitalized and its an insult to say taht its not working out when it is.

james bond has been white since the great Sean Connery donned the role back in the day. which pretty much means he'll always be white. i'm not racist but that's just how it is.

and even though will smith is a good actor he would never fly for james bond. not in this or any other lifetime.

i think that if another bond was to be chosen then it should be either jude law or ewan mcgregor. colin ferrel might fit the role if he were clean cut and all but honestly i prefer him as a drunken irishman.

FAIL. FAIL. FAIL. I like Sam Worthington but he is NOT Bond. Also like l0rds said Craig is still contracted to do another Bond movie even though the rights are being sold, but if they did replace Craig (which I wish they would) I would say Clive Owen.
WTF with Will Smith. Hell no for him as Bond. Sorry but Bond is white! That would be like Harvey Dent in the Batman movies. Started off as black then, WTF, he ends as a white guy? I would be oober pissed if they did that.

I'd love to see more of Elba. But he's not really playing a role that suits him in Thor though. It would be nice to have him in the spotlight of his own movie. Black Panther maybe? The new Spawn film? Anything would be nice really.

Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Sean Connery. Personally, I want to see Tom Hardy as Bond.
