I [frick]ing hate that racist piece of shit Mark Wahlberg, him having a black love interest is so ironic:

As a teenager, in 1986 and 1988, Walhberg took part in some racially motivated attacks. In June 1986, a 15-year-old Wahlberg and three friends chased after three black children while yelling "Kill the [n word], kill the [n word]" and throwing rocks at them. The next day, Wahlberg and the others followed a group of mostly black fourth-graders (including one of the victims from the previous day) taking a field trip on a beach, yelled racial epithets, threw rocks at them, and "summoned other white males who joined" in the harassment

@Brondern - He’s not a great actor but some of his movies are entertaining. Seems weird to obsess over 2 incidents from 35+ years ago when he was a teenager. You probably did nothing dumb in your youth that you regret. If that’s the case, you are in the minority there. Most of us were idiots at that age.

@mountainman - Those are literal hate crimes, people get cancelled over way less and also minor insignificant shit these days so I hate the double standard

@Brondern - Cancel culture is a virus on our society. Don’t care that some teenager beat some dudes up and said mean things about them in the 1980’s. Far more important shit to worry about.

@Brondern - Yeah, he's great, isn't he?

He was superb in the Ted films.

@Brondern - Comedy overcame cancel culture’s attempt to destroy it. Dave Chapelle beat it. Joe Rogan beat it (I know this was from things said on his podcast not a comedy ruining). We are in a stand up comedy renaissance these days. Andrew Shultz. Shane Gillis (also got past a cancelation attempt). Heck even Louie CK came back and is still big after the attempted cancelation. Tim Dillon. Ryan Long. Ben Bankas. Lots of great comedians out right now who are saying things that some people would love to cancel them over. Free speech wins. The offended ones can stay mad.

@DarthAlgar - He ain't even a good actor, Ted the bear carried those movies and the new Ted series is better than both movies combined

Big stars in a Netflix movie? 9/10 times, it's some the most trashiest movies ever released with major Hollywood stars. I feel like you can count on two hands where a movie with high status actors are actually good. Idk. I ignore Netflix movies for the most part. Slept on The Old Guard and kinda I wish still was. But Dolemite, They Cloned Tyrone, and the Knives Out franchise are some the best they have. Hustle as well. Will check out the black cowboys one soon. Never seen Beasts of No Nations but I always hear great things about it. Irishman was good, too long of a movie for me though. Triple Frontier should have been better. Not trash but not good. MID

Again, these are movie with elite Hollywood stars and most of them tend to be trash. I'm looking at you, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Godot, Kevin Hart, Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Dwayne Johnson, most importantly, Adam Sandler. Netflix movies needs to put a constraint on what they allow to be on their service as an original. I doubt they want to be taken seriously like Disney and Sony with their movies. Otherwise, they wouldn't drop so much garbage but oh well.

We've only had this premise for a movie about 11,000 times in the last decade.

But this will be the one that doesn't suck.

Halle Berry & Mark Whalberg’s chemistry is the selling point here along with JK Simmons in a supporting role. Looks fun, the London/Euro setting works too. Might check this out.
