Tom Hardy And Kenneth Branagh Eyed For Christopher Nolan's Next Movie DUNKIRK

With The Dark Knight Trilogy and sci-fi epics like Inception and Interstellar under his belt, Christopher Nolan's next movie has finally been revealed, and it's a little more grounded than those. However, the cast he's putting together sounds like his best yet...

Unfortunatelty, Christopher Nolan's next movie isn't one we'll likely cover that often here on CBM, but it does sound like it will be every bit as great as those we have. Following some very interesting rumours over the weekend, Variety has revealed that The Dark Knight director will be taking the helm of Dunkirk from his own original screenplay. The World War II epic is apparently, "set during the legendary evacuation of the northern French city during WWII" and will be shot in France next year on a combination of IMAX 65m and 65mm large format film. It's currently set to be released on July 21st, 2017. Here's where things get really interesting though; while Nolan is looking for unknowns to lead the cast (he's already been testing teenagers in London), the adult supporting players look set to be made up of names like Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies), Kenneth Branagh (Jack Ryan), and Tom Hardy (The Revenant). Something tells me that this is going to be awesome...

LMAO, didn't you say that The Ridiculous 6 was good? Yeah, your opinion on movies isn't really worth much. :)

TDKR and Interstellar aren't Nolan's best but they are far better films than your typical big budget blockbuster.

I saw Hateful Eight in large format last night. Every director should be doing that. It's is the most beautiful cinematic experience you'll ever take part in.

LOL... yeah because I finally enjoyed an Adam Sandler movie that wasn't a piece of crap thrown together so he could have a vacation with his crew.

But hey lets not act like Interstellar didn't suck and TDKR wasn't underwhelming.
Yeah go ahead and make another crap movie Nolan. Just don't drag Tom hardy into it.

No need to reply, I don't care. Just rustling Nolanite Jimmies.

I seriously don't get either the secretsy nor the date... Nothing against him doing a WWII movie, but why put it in the blockbuster season? WWII movies are more oscarbaits then blockbusters.

@0megaDaGr0dd

Well Spielberg is doing that so ^o)

So I'm wondering what type of "twist" will be in this movie. Nolan is pretty much known to always add some form of fictitious aspects to his films that leave you questioning reality by the time the credits role. lol A WW2 movie sounds great and yet very dull for Nolan's taste.

You saying that Ridiculous 6 was good and Interstellar and TDKR sucked is really enough. Just stop right there. LMAO! The shit people come up with on this site.

Interstellar was great, not perfect (especially the transportation through the Black Hole) but it's Sci-fi it's not really meant to be 100% accurate for me. I know Neil DeGrasse Tyson was squirming in his theater seat watching it. lol

@TheRationalNerd

If I remember correctly, I think Neil DeGrasse Tyson was singing Interstellar's praises.

Anyone who doesn't believe that this is the exact opposite of the correct description of Ridiculous 6 is brain dead.

Yous a dummy...
I said I enjoyed it, didn't say it was good.
Just like you enjoy Interstellar and probably NEVER said the phrase, "It was good" about that movie.
Its sad your only defense is trying to pick out Ridiculous 6. Which now that you bring it up. Yeah, its better than Interstellar. I would ask for my money back from watching that movie but Im sure Nolan already used it to make custom NolanDildoes for fans like you. I hear its just like his movies with a twist at the end only Nolanites like.

SmellofDuty - 12/28/2015, 12:19 PM
@Dev7

Totally! Westerns were the equivalent of the superhero movies of my parents generation, so I grew up on them. They are one of the cornerstones of cinematic history. I always love it when a good modern director does a Western, i.e. The Coens, Tarantino

Btw have you seen Hateful Eight yet?

slickrickdesigns - 12/28/2015, 12:21 PM
Jimmys Russtled.. My missions accomplished. You keep on sucking that NolanSauce and I'll keep watching bad Adam Sandler comedies over Interstellar and TDKR any day. Ill take retarded Adam Sandler movies like Ridiculous 6 over plot holey Sci-Fi movies with horrible twist that have a re-watch value of 0 times.
Yeah, if you want to say Ridiculous 6 sucked thats fine, its in no way a great movie or a must watch movie, but don't lie to yourself about TDKR and interstellar being anything but visually cool movies with dumbass plots and twists that make M. Night Shyamalan's halfassed "the village" and "the happening" twists look genius.

The Dark Knight >>>>> Ridiculous 6 >>>>>> TDKR >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gusto Poop >>>>>>>Interstellar.
