Red Sparrow revolves around a ballerina who is sent to "sparrow school" where she's trained to become an intelligence spy. If that sounds similar to Black Widow's origin story, that's because it is but her background isn't exactly all that original either and this is a Russian trope which has been doing the rounds on the big and small screen since the height of the Cold War. Early reviews for the movie have been positive and it sounds like a much-needed win for Jennifer Lawrence after some recent duds.
During a recent interview, the actress recalled one of her more interesting days on set when she had to stand naked in front of an entire room of people. "There's one particular scene in the movie where your nightmare comes true from grade school, where you're standing naked in front of a classroom full of people," she told Entertainment Tonight. "So that became a reality, but it wasn't that bad."
"Everybody made me feel so comfortable that I probably at a certain point started making everybody else uncomfortable. Because I'd be like, 'I don't want the robe. I'm hot. I'm eating.' Everybody's like, 'She needs to cover up.'" Lawrence is covered up in the photoshoot below but she looks nothing short of stunning and it's easy to imagine her playing a character like Black Widow in the MCU one day!
For now, she'll obviously take on the role of Mystique in X-Men: Dark Phoenix later this year but her future as that character remains unclear due to the fact that Disney is in the process of acquiring Fox.
