Are Beavis and Butthead Making a return?

The once popular duo may be back on MTV.

Now, before any of you blow a gasket, let me get this out of the way. I don't want any complaints about this not being a comic book:

Moving on to the actual story, The Examiner has heard from an anonymous source that Beavis and Butthead creator Mike Judge is in the process of outlining and writing as many as 30 new episodes of the not-so-dynamic duo for MTV. However, plans for actually airing the episodes have not been nailed down as yet. The "Office Space" creator is hoping for a full-fledged return for the series.

Fans will also be delighted to know, assuming these plans come to fruition, that Judge is planning on keeping the same style of animation, as well as the sketch/video/sketch format of the previous episodes. Obviously, they would be using more up to date videos.

And should MTV be dumb enough to pass on this idea (which I would not put it past them), it would not be surprising to see these episodes end up on Judge's own website or aired via an online partner.

ecksmanfan: I really hope this happens. Besides the fact that these two are hilarious, it might actually make MTV somewhat watchable again. Here's to hopin'!

Update: DarkHorizons.com is reporting that Mike Judge has confirmed that he is indeed working on 30 new episodes.

This is an awesome find ecksman! :D
I hope to God that they come back! I remember reading that Mike was considering bringing them back. I just hope he hasn't gotten too rusty. 'King of the Hill' started great but became less funny as it went on. Hopefully there as good as before. You better not pass on this MTV! You owe all of us!

After I found the original article, I went back and found some old episodes. I forgot how funny that show was! I really hope MTV picks the new stuff up. They'd be insane not to.

I've got this on my instant que. EPIC!!!! Love it when they went to the monster truck show and Bigfoot ran over the port-a-pottie, thus stirring up Stirculeus, the roman Goid of feces. And then he sh%t on the colosseum. Like I said: EPIC!

F**k yes! Bring em back now, we need something besides those Goddamn reality shows that MTV only shows. I haven't seen a music video on MTV in forever, let alone a heavy metal video.

grif - you need to get out more. There is some good music out right now (some better than the crap from their time period). Check-out Cage the Elephant, or the Racontours, or The Used.

The problem is you haven't had B&B to expose you to it. They broke more new music than the Buzzard. I first heard GWAR, Primus, and Sepultura on B&B. I would have thought all of the music sucked back then if it was not for them.

geez, I'd love to see them back on tv with new episodes, but on mtv? Judge better get used to making the new episodes in adult swim format (12 minutes or so) to make room for all the commercials mtv will tack onto it (the 12 minutes isn't to fit in a 15 minute block, but 30) I guess Mtv must still own rights to the show, otherwise Judge would be smart and shop other networks. Hell, he did create Idiocracy.
