Could we see characters from Disney's Big Hero 6 make the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in live-action form? That's the rumor currently doing the rounds online.
According to The Disinsider (which has a pretty good track record with Disney-related scoops), certain characters from the 2014 animated movie will make their live-action debut in an upcoming Marvel Studios project. They're not sure which ones, exactly, but we can expect Baymax and Hiro at the very least. It's also not clear if the original voice actors will be asked to reprise their roles, but we'd expect Marvel to recast.
The projects they mention as possibilities are Secret Invasion, Agents of Atlas, and Doctor Strange (In the Multiverse of Madness, presumably). An Agents of Atlas series was rumored to be in development late last year, but has yet to be officially announced.
Big Hero 6 was well received by critics, and although it didn't exactly set the box office on fire, it was a modest enough hit. A Disney XD series launched in 2017 (it aired its series finale earlier this month), and Disney recently announced a Baymax spinoff for the Disney+ streaming service, but fans have been hoping for another big screen adventure for the colourful crime-fighters.
We're sure they'd be just as excited by the prospect of seeing the team mix it up in the MCU-proper, but we'll have to see how this one pans out.
