It appears that many fans are not digging Marvel's latest cartoon incarnation of the web-crawler, known as Ultimate Spider-man. After 6 episodes, with mostly negative reviews, fans have started voicing their hate directly to the show runners, through popular social media.

While visiting the facebook pages of  Marvel's head of TV, Jeph Loeb, as well the writers of Ultimate Spider-man show, Man of action, i noticed quite a few messages attacking the show and sometimes Loeb himself. Below are couple examples (you can read more by checking the facebook pages of the show runners):

" Ultimate spider-man is horrible!
This is not a spier-man show. Where's parker's money problem? where is the parker luck? where is spider-man learning from his uncle ben's last words? This show is a big "F**K YOU" to all of spiderman fans who were waiting for this show.
and by the way, the spider-cycle SUX and makes no sense. Seriously worst spider-man show of the last 20 years.
This show DOES NOT HAVE MARVEL DNA, IT HAS LOEB's SH!t-N-A "

"Look, I'm just a kid but I love Spider-Man. I look up to him I always have and up until now, I've always trusted Marvel to do him justice. This whole "Ultimate Spider-Man" thing just isn't justice. It hurts me to watch the show. In fact, this is injustice. First of all, this show was a HUGE letdown for me, my friends and family because we LOVE the ultimate spidey comics. This thing where you put a bunch of ideas that "look good on paper" into a show and call it "Ultimate Spider-Man" just lets down so many fans. The show barely follows the comics. Secondly, I understand that the show is for kids but even children seem to know terrible writing when they see it. My 10 year old brother and his elementary school friends hate the show with a passion. We all miss Spectacular so very much. "

" I gotta agree with most the people here... I had really high hopes for USM and after 3 episodes, it just feels like a rushed and lacking in story. It explains everything in cutaways like the viewer is dumb and doesn't see what's going on. It's really annoying. After The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes did so well on Disney XD I really thought USM would follow suite and give us another quality show with great animation and story... "

"Jeph Loeb. Why are you cancelling Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Disney XDs top rated show. To make a show set in the same continuuity as Ultimate Shitty-Man. I mean Spider-Man. You know...the new [frick]ING SHIT cartoon that you are heavily involved in. The one that is about 1% as good as Spectacular Spider-Man which you WERE NOT involved in. "

"Really disappointed of Ultimate spider-man. With all the writers and producers attached to this cartoon, including you sir, i thought it will be a show both kids and adults can enjoy. But after watching 4 epsiodes im just dropping the show. USM lacks depth, drama and personality. The 4th wall jokes breaking need to go. IT is trying to be funny in moments we dont need it to be funny. The cutaway gags are just horrible and need to go. I would have preferred a solo spidey show where he occasionally teams up with the other heroes, rather than have him in a teen avengers team from the get go."

Michael Bendis Facebook page

Whether these comments are deserved or not is a matter of personal opinion. However i do agree that this show is quite bad, and even though it is geared towards kids, i have seen better shows with the same target audience. And as someone who grew up on kids show the like of Batman Tas, X-men tas, Spider-man tas and other excellent  shows, i can tell Marvel that you can have shows that both kids and their parents can enjoy, like the, soon to be cancelled, Avengers Erath's Mightiest Heroes.

The shows average at best, but when some of these people go on social media websites with their pathetic english skills ranting and raving i cant help but think they wont be taken seriously. If you're calm enough to turn your computer and log into facebook you're calm enough to put forward a reasonable coherent argument.

They should cancel this and bring back Spectacular Spider-Man.

My biggest complaint about this show is that it's NOTHING like the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, which were brilliant. (Up until Jeph Loeb irrevocably f*cked up the Ultimate universe). With over 100 issues of Ultimate Spider-Man as a blueprint, this show should've been a slam dunk.

Hey Loeb, I thought the purpose of creating TV shows is to produce something your audience actually WANTS TO SEE! Obviously you've missed the mark with US-M, and the big mouse on the hill is about to do it again by cancelling EMH. Take a cue from the people that provide you the ratings... WE DON"T LIKE IT!!!

Cancelling EMH for this kind of crap is a huge mistake, and you'll see it reflected in the ratings. Mark my words.

Spider-cycle?!?!?!? What the $%&@? Ok, just did my wiki-ing (I don't watch kid cartoons) but that is officially the dumbest Spidey idea ever in a history of clones for all, resurrections galore and relationship rewrites. And having him pull a Deadpol is... silly. So either they're brainless (highly possible) or they went way overboard in dumbing this down for kids. I tried to forgive Loeb for Smallville being trash during his involvement but this is disgusting. J.K. Simmons, whose J.J.J.'s one of the best comics to screen characters ever, and Clark Gregg deserve better :/.

Oh and by the by, this isn't news. This is just fuel to raging fanboys who have nothing new to say other than "Ultimate Spider-Man sucks, bring back Spectacular Spider-Man".

Also I should point out that I love this show for what it is, not for what it's not.

@teabag - shows aimed at kids don't have to suck. Legend of Korra, Spectacular Spider-Man, Avengers: EMH, Green Lantern: TAS, Batman: TAS, Young Justice, My Little Pony: FIM...I could go on and on listing shows that are also aimed at kids that: appeal to all ages, have: engaging plots, character development, good acting, good writing. Perhaps the kids you know are not as mentally advanced as the kids I know. Either way, I'm tired of hearing "it's for kids" used as a justification for a show being crap. You'd have an argument if everything aimed at kids sucked but that's not the case. This show sucks. People who like it either know nothing about spider-man, are trolling, or are too mentally handicapped to follow a story for 22 minutes.

Oh yes, people who enjoy a show for what it is and don't care what shows it's not like obviously makes us autistic because clearly everyone should have the same opinion as you otherwise we are just freaks in society. Boo hoo, boo boo hoo.

@Tea - I don't have a problem with a kids cartoon being fun for kids. That's who US-M was initially targeted at and thats fine. But why take a perfectly good show like EMH, enjoyed by folks of ALL ages, and CANCEL IT to bring us yet another show targeted at the young'uns? I realize most of us on this site don't fit that demographic, but we're the ones who've turned on our younger siblings, cousins and friends to these kind of shows because of the love we had for these characters we WE were kids. There's room for both kinds of shows, just don't take away whats already successful in the hunt for a different kind of success.

@Teabag well when they haved showed that they can make shows that appeal to both (Spectacular Spiderman, Avengers: EMH)and other shows like BTAS, The Batman, Batman Beyond, JL (i know alot of Batman) have proven that it can be for everyone.

They are right. The show is awful and fans should demand much better. I could barely finish the pilot and haven't watched it since. Avenger's Earths Mightiest Heros isn't a great show or even a particularly good one but its solid superhero entertainment. DC's excellent series Young Justice shows it is possible to make a show about a team of young teenage superheros and still have a mature tone and intelligent writing. Ultimate Spider-Man is easily the worst Spider-Man series ever made and the sooner its cancelled the better
