New Hope For YOUNG JUSTICE?

As many of you Green Lantern: The animated series and Young justice, you know recently that WB shot down smgo.tv's plan to fan-fund the next season for each show. But now smgo.tv has made a bold counter move.

Yesterday smgo.tv released two videos on youtube explaining that despite WB giving them the thumbs down to doing new seasons for Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series, they still plan on going ahead and starting a funding system for Young Justice. In the video they say that if they can successfully raise funds for a new season of YJ through fan donations, they're sure [read not 100% positive] that WB will give the OK to allow a new season being made. They also theorize that with a YJ series funded, they could get GL:TAS funded as well. The decision to fund YJ before GL:TAS came from the fact that YJ's seasonal budget is about half of GL:TAS, being 10 million dollars. Obviously this is no small feat to overcome, seeing as how the former is traditional 2D animation and the latter is 3D CGI. Thier donation system is very similar to KickStarter's, as where you pledge to pay a certain amount of money and if/when the project reaches it's needed amount, and WB gives the thumbs up for it, only then will people be charged. Also much like Kickstarter, smgo.tv are giving rewards for each amount of money you can give, and the more you spend on the project, the better the reward. And to all GL:TAS fans whom might not care much for Young Justice, please realize that there isn't even a possibility for that to return unless YJ gets funded, so as said earlier, Any and everyone, please support this project, even if it's just $5, it's always helpful.

So, check out the project and the rewards in the links below, and remember Heroes Never Die.

I liked YJ a lot so good for them!

GL was a good show, but YJ was a much better show.

They both were good. there is room for both shows. GL had so much emotion going for it and the last episode paid off for it. Let help at least YJ get back on if people really like it so much, let show some support.

This doesn't sound very promising. WB said no and yet they're going ahead anyway and are asking for money? I was on board when the potentially had backing from WB but I don't know now....

Ummmm no.

Other than Veronica Mars, I don't like these KickStarter things. They're just using the fans.

They wont take the money unless they decide to go ahead and revive it

@ DarthJericho
I previously made a post about the plans on the funding, but CBM took it down saying it was "uninteresting", so I posted again but with the update of the funding begun

Well, WB said no based on the notion that they don't think smgo.tv can reach their pledge goal. Smgo.TV's plan is to gather the pledges and petition WB again. If WB sees this as a viable venture, those who've pledged will be charged (and here's hoping all the pledges can be collected on).

If WB says no a second time, no one actually gets charged and the status quo remains the same. I wish them luck. if smgo.tv make their pledge quota and WB say no, it'll be a pretty clear indication that WB honestly never had much interest in reviving YJ one way or the other and has other plans for a Justice League related cartoon show.

I will be pledging to this. Greg did a good job on Young Justice. So I want to see what else he has planned for YJ. I know he did give hints that he wanted to bring in the Wonder Twins. I would prefer to see other characters over them. But I will give him the chance to make them cool. Plus he made an interesting version of Sportsmaster so I would like to see what he would do with them.

It would be awesome if it actually happens.
This would be us speaking louder than those goddamn executives.

Without official confirmation and support from WB, I'm not giving any money to a new company that just popped up without any proven track record of actually producing content. Not saying they won't get anything made but.....

Why don't they just turn GL:TAS into a cartoon so they don't have to spend so much.

You won't be giving any money until WB agrees on producing another season.. If that happens I'm betting WB will release a press statement confirming SMGO's intent. Then it still will be your own choice to actually transfer the money...

I'm all for Kickstarters. It is a way for the fan to be as close to a production as possible. Hell, you are basically helping make a movie/tv show. I think thats cool, and sometimes donating allows you to see the movie for free or get a copy of the DVD so its not like you are wasting money, and if they don't reach goal you get all your money back. Crowd financing isn't a terrible idea. Its actually pretty smart, especially for indie filmmakers and shows that got pulled a while ago. Think, if Joss did a Kickstarter to produce a new season of Firefly would you really get that pissed off?
