Fourteen years later, the Parr family is still kicking butt at the box office, doing significantly better than with Incredibles 2 than its predecessor. The sequel, which more than doubled the original when it came to their opening weekends, continues to prove their power as an intellectual property. Over the past few days the animated film has hit another milestone, one that only a few in the genre have achieved.

With under two months in cinemas, Incredibles 2 has already joined the billion dollar club, joining the likes of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War as Disney's 2018 representatives. The film is the fourth to reach the landmark this year, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom being the only non-mouse house flick to hit the goal.

Currently the film stands as the seventh highest grossing animated film of all time overall. At this pace the film will likely join the top five. When it comes to films in general, the feature may become part of the top 25, due to its chances of hitting $1.1 billion.
