Though a sequel to The Incredibles was announced last year, director and scrennwriter Brad Bird just told NPR [via ScreenRant], that he's only just now sat down to work on the script.  This actually makes perfect sense as Bird has been busy filming Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney and Britt Robertson.  With the sci-fi action flick set to hit theaters next month, it appears that Bird is finally free to start work on The Incredibles 2.

Announced by CEO Bob Iger last March during a Disney shareholders meeting, it sounds as if The Incredibles 2 is still a long ways off.
