In an interview at the Toronto Film Festival, Keanu Reeves reveals the status of the anime classic- 'Cowboy Bebop.'

On the subject of Cowboy Bebop, Reeves had the following to say:

Collider: You were attached to 'Cowboy Bebop' for a little while. Any update on that?

Reeves: I haven’t heard anything back. They turned in the script and it was very expensive. I don’t know if they’re going to…it would cost, like, half a billion dollars to make that script. So, I don’t know where it’s at right now.

There you have it guys. It seems the Cowboy Bebop Movie is not happening. I didn't think it would be that expensive.

He said that a whole year ago last September. That's not really an update.I don't know why that site is reporting as if it's new news.

expensive? avatar is state of the art and it didn't cost that much. each star wars film cost 65 millions and they were awesome. what on earth could it possibly be that makes it so expensive? just admit you are not interested in this movie...

He's clearly exaggerating the cost to bring home the point that money is holding it back at the moment. $500mil is a ridiculous amount. But I do think that in order to do Cowboy Bebop right, it does need to be big budget. Just not THAT big lol. $100mil is more likely and the studio is probably thinking that CB is not known well enough to warrant that kind of cash, despite starring Keanu.

Movie would be cool, but we need someone younger actor! Reeves is too old as Spike! Plus he is not that good actor!

Samurai Champloo movie all the way!

I would love to see a Cowboy Bebop movie, but not with Keanu Reeves as Spike.

Good news to me. I'd rather have no Cowboy Bebop movie than have one with Keanu 'one-dimensional' Reeves. C'mon, we don't need another good franchise ruined just for the sake of having a 'movie-adaptation' of it, like Max Payne and many others.

most anime to film suck.

1.the guyver
2.blood the last vampire
3.speed racer
4.dragonball z

i haven't seen one that i've enjoyed,so don't bother making any of them.

especially not akira or ghost in the shell, the only way you can make these classics is with a full japanese cast & crew, only put foreigners in them if the part requires it.

That was not even Dragonball Z, it shouldn't have even been called Dragonball...are they retarded....Goku in high school?? Speed Racer wasn't horrible, though I'm not that big of a fan of it...Transformers was more my gig back in those days.

In order to do it properly the story and the characters have to be there...you can't just hire people who don't care about it like DragonWTFwasthatBall Evolution? why the hell was it called Evolution anyway, when the hell did anyone evolve??

I'm satisfied with the movie that is a classic! besides the only thing we wanna see is it in Live Action...because like manga to anime, anime to live action is a step up in overall experience...

and if they even think about touchin Samurai Champloo Hollywood is gone!!

I love Bebop, i really hope that they find a way to make the movie without totally "holyywooding" it.

@LEEE777

I would sell my soul to see a live action Cowboy Bebop. They just need to find the right actors. I think I might make a fancast.
