Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania may be a movie that's split opinions, but like every other Marvel Studios blockbuster, it's packed full of awesome Easter Eggs.
Some are more obvious than others, while there are those it's all too easy to let pass you by when you're engrossed watching a movie as busy as this one. Lucky for you, we've combed through the blockbuster to bring you a breakdown of the best references, cameos, and comic book nods from Ant-Man's latest big screen adventure.
There are quite a few we think could even be laying the groundwork for future stories, while we're sure you won't be surprised to learn that many of them tie into both Loki and the wider Multiverse Saga (including Avengers: The Kang Dynasty).
Take a look through the threequel's best Easter Eggs by clicking on the "Next" button below!
10. Mister Gryphon
In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's mid-credits scene, countless Kang Variants arrive in a giant colosseum for a meeting of the Council of Kangs.
Interestingly, they all arrive in the exact same manner as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and one of the Variants is basically Jonathan Majors in a suit and tie. This is almost certainly Mister Gryphon, a Kang Variant stranded in the 21st Century who created Qeng Enterprises.
That company's headquarters could be seen in The Void when Loki arrived at the end of time, a hint perhaps that he was pruned in a past life.
9. The Sacred Timeline
When He Who Remains figured out a way to prune timelines, he became the last Kang standing and ended the Multiversal War. After spending thousands of years watching over that, he was ultimately killed by Sylvie and the Multiverse was reborn.
In this movie, Kang the Conqueror unknowingly references those events when he shows Janet what the timeline used to look like - a singular ring - before the Multiverse started creating divergent timelines. Interestingly, rings appear to be an important part of Kang's story as he references the circles around his base as "rings" too.
Needless to say, we're now convinced one of his Variants is the creator of the Ten Rings!
8. Jimmy Woo
Many fans have expressed disappointment over the fact that characters like Luis and Kurt don't appear in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
The movie barely spends any time on Earth so we shouldn't be surprised, but there is one blink-and-you-'d-miss-it cameo from a familiar friend: Randall Park's FBI Agent Jimmy Woo. Following his return in WandaVision, Jimmy and Scott can be seen sharing a drink and it's clear they've become good friends.
Oh, and they definitely share an interest in magic as both pull off some tricks during Park's wordless cameo (a real waste of a great supporting character if we're being honest).
7. The Blip Aftermath
Marvel Studios hasn't explored the aftermath of The Blip in quite as much depth as we expected, but it continues to be an important part of what's happening in the background of these stories.
At the start of the movie, we learn that Cassie Lang was arrested after being part of a protest movement that aimed to stop the police from forcibly relocating the people left homeless by the Blip.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, helping those affected by Thanos' actions was a big part of what Aunt May was attempting to do at F.E.A.S.T., so it's nice to see this hasn't been forgotten in Phase 5.
6. Kang Vs. The Avengers
We're a little surprised this didn't play a larger role in the movie, but during his first meeting with Ant-Man, Kang confirms he's faced The Avengers before.
However, after battling so many of them, they've all started to blur together, hence why he's unsure whether Scott Lang is the "one with the hammer." While Kang has likely made short work of Earth's Mightiest Heroes across countless timelines, we do wonder if he's just being deliberately apathetic here in an effort to throw Ant-Man off his game.
After all, this is a weakened Kang, so showing strength is essential. The mid-credits scene also strongly hints "they" (i.e. The Avengers) have long been an issue for the Kangs.
5. Incursions
Marvel Studios' Multiverse plans are still a little unclear, though Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introduced the concept of incursions and the threat they pose.
With so many divergent Kangs across the Multiverse, they're referenced again here and incursions appear to be commonplace, with two realities colliding and both universes destroyed, as a result. The Conqueror clearly feels it's his purpose to destroy those divergent timelines in an effort to save his reality, but he's no longer here.
Something tells us it won't be long before Earth-616 finds itself at risk of an incursion...
4. He Who Remains
At the end of Loki, He Who Remains seemed confident that once the next Multiversal War had concluded, he would find himself back where he began at the end of time and in charge of the TVA.
It makes sense if history really is destined to repeat itself, and we may not have seen the last of this baddie. Regardless, the importance of He Who Remains is emphasised during Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's opening Marvel Studios fanfare when the Kang Variant is shown among the many other characters.
Have we seen the last of He Who Remains? If nothing else, we'd anticipate an earlier version of his Variant to appear (if he hasn't already).
3. Kang's Variants
Unsurprisingly, we've talked a lot about Variants here. That mid-credits scene features countless Kangs, and while we're not sure why they're howling at the moon like loons, we're glad the panel above has been recreated in live-action.
Elsewhere, we meet Immortus, Rama-Tut, and a character we believe might be an amalgamation of Scarlet Centurion and Kid Immortus based on his unique appearance. Those three look set to be key to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
In a post-credits scene, the stage is set for Loki season 2 when the God of Mischief and Mobius encounter Victor Timely.
2. David Dastmalchian Returns
Marvel Studios may have dropped the ball on bringing back those Ant-Man supporting characters, but David Dastmalchian is given the chance to play another character.
In the Quantum Realm, we meet Veb, a "creature without holes" who becomes an unexpected ally to the Ant-Man family. He doesn't appear to be based on anyone from the comic books, but the character is one we had fun spending time with and the way his arc ends is undeniably funny.
Corey Stoll's Darren Cross also returns, of course, albeit as M.O.D.O.K. (with a very goofy explanation as to how he survived the events of Ant-Man).
1. "Kang Will Return"
In an alternate version of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne were set to be left stranded in the Quantum Realm.
That's not the case in the theatrical cut, so we're guessing you expected the credits to end with the promises that, "Ant-Man And The Wasp Will Return." Nope. While we're sure there are more stories to be told with the heroes, we're instead told "Kang Will Return."
Now, does that mean one or more of his many Variants or Kang the Conqueror? Funnily enough, the last time we saw a message like this was at the end of Avengers: Infinity War when the movie promised, "Thanos Will Return."
