It's been awhile since any
Ant-Man movie news has been released, and it's had fans wondering if the project will ever be green-lit. A few months ago, Marvel President Kevin Feige disclosed that the film is being planned for release after
The Avengers hits theaters in 2012, and that a first draft script had already been turned in by Edgar Wright; who has been signed on to direct.
During an interview regarding his latest comic movie adaptation,
Scott Pilgrim VS The World, Wright commented on his progress with
Ant-Man:
"Once I finish ['Scott Pilgrim'] and collapse for at least a month, I'm going to get back into writing it. I wrote a draft before 'Scott Pilgrim' and my second draft is very much overdue to Marvel. It's something that I've written and they very much liked the first draft that we did, me and Joe Cornish, so we're excited to get back into it again."
Hopefully, once Marvel approves a working draft for the film, casting will officially begin. Until then, comic fans will have to keep making their preferences heard in hopes that Marvel Studios is listening.
