Edgar Wright Says ANT-MAN Fits Right Into Future Plans For THE AVENGERS

Nothing too surprising here, but Edgar Wright has talked briefly about meeting with Joss Whedon to make sure Ant-Man fits into Marvel's future, hinting that the character will join The Avengers 3!

"I saw [Whedon] just the other week in London, we had dinner. He likes the script that we've written, so there's not a lot we have to do to fit it into the other movies, which is good. I think so how it fits in will actually become in future movies. So, it's going to be more standalone."

Ultron perhaps?......could be a number of things it sets up.....not sure it necessarily means he'll be in Avengers 3.

But you'd assume he would be.

Hey guys quick question... "What do you all think Marvel's going to do after Phase 3 is over?"

Will they possible continue along with a phase 4 or will we see a possible reboot for specific characters?

Perhaps they may even start doing cross over events. I really want to see a Civil War adaption one day. I also want to see a Dark Avengers storyline as well. However Norman belongs to Sony. Then again Webb did say Marvel and Sony are working close! lol :D

Now this looks fantastic. Marvel has my respect for this project alone. Guardians, Cap 2, and Thor 2 look great as well.

The fact that this movie was carefully written to be a standalone tells me that it has the potential to be the strongest MCU movie of its phase.

@Theblackwolverine The only logical step is Civil War. After Phase 3 there will be enough characters developed that they can do it. I think Civil War would be a sequel trilogy to Avengers. So they do Avengers 1,2,3 and then Avengers/Marvel Civil War Trilogy kinda like Star Wars has seperated two trilogies (soon to be 3)

Plus Civil War is the ultimate culmination of creating their universe and the most mainstream success'ish storyline. It could likely challenge for the 2 billion range given what Avengers has done.

Why is Civil War a logical step? That doesn't even... no. We need Avengers Disassembled, House of M, and a lot of other crossovers before Civil War to happen.

SOMEONE SAY..ULTRON?
Blastaar
Blastaar - 7/19/2013, 10:56 PM
Yeah but you need to cast him now, cameo him in Avengers 2 so that people will know who he is and anticipate his solo movie debut. Otherwise, just putting him out there with no Avengers 2 head start intro is just stupid when the prime opportunity will inevitably be there. After all, he was supposed to be in Avengers 1 not....Avengers 3.

@TheGreatManator It's the logical step from a storyline catering towards mainstream and not the comic fans. It's about what will make sick money and Civil War has marketers dream all over it imo.

Thanos in avengers 2. then ANT MAN CREATES Ultron in the after credits scene of avengers 2. Then they fight Ultron in avengers 3!!!

What has me interested in this, is that MARVEL finally hired a real Director, not some TV puppet they can easily boss around. Hopefully they have enough good sense to stay out of his way, and let him do what they hired him to do.

But NO...

Marvel decide to put 2 Mutants in it instead...

Just Pure Rubbish...

Whedon already said in an interview that thanos is not the villain in avengers two, he said he's saving him for the finale. So ultron may not be in A3

I've been looking forward to this movie since 1966. I like what Martian projected in his post.

The only problem with "Civil War" is it… SUCKED

I don't want to see my heroes fighting other heroes. It's just a stupid premise. I don't mind was simple misunderstanding similar to The Avengers movie or like in the comics, but to me Civil War was something that just "broke" things. You don't recover from things like that in real life.
