Peyton Reed Was Initially Against GIANT-MAN Debut IN CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

The Ant-Man and the Wasp director was initially dismayed when he found out Giant-Man would be debuting in Civil War and not his own standalone feature. However, he's got even more surprises in store.

Scott Lang unveiled his "biggest" surprise in someone else's movie but director Peyton Reed says there's still plenty more to explore in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Speaking to Moviefone, Reed admitted he was a bit grieved to learn that Scott Lang would be unleashing his growing powers in Captain America: Civil War but he quickly got over it as he dove deeper into development on Lang's sequel.  "Again, that is one of the sort of things where it's a mixed bag. When I first found out -- gosh, I don't know, two years ago, a year-and-a-half ago -- that "Civil War" was going to get the Giant-Man premiere, I was like "No!" But, now, I've since recovered, and we have a lot more in store for Scott Lang in this movie.

We get to see the Wasp debut -- we're all about the Wasp and Ant-Man. So I like it, because we spend a lot of time with our different writers and directors, and there's a lot of crosstalk, and I love that.
"

Besides growing extremely small and large, communicating with insects and shrinking other inert objects, what other Ant-Man powers are left to explore?  Could Reed and Marvel look to create some new abilities in the sequel?

We'll find out when Ant-Man and the Wasp arrives in theaters on  July 6, 2018.  Of course, we'll be seeing Lang sooner in Avengers: Infinty War, which hits North American movie screens two months earlier on May 4, 2018.

Glad that Giant-Man was in Civil War. My theater was ecstatic when the transformation occurred.

@BatmanHeisenberg - Yup, sucks it leaked a bit early, but everyone went nuts and the dialogue around his growth was a great moment of levity in the film.

@TheGoat - Agreed. Wish it could have been contained more.

Marvel should just release their movies first in America.

@BatmanHeisenberg - it would be the same thing, because if the movie was released in the USA first, then International fans will get spoiled before the movie get's released in theri countries.
