A week ago, comic book movie fans were shocked to learn that Edgar Wright ("Shaun of the Dead"), who had been developing
Ant-Man since 2006, had left the project which was to begin filming very soon. Since then, rumors have circulated that Marvel Studios did a last-minute rewrite of the script that Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish had written and what came back was a more generic script. That supposedly angered Wright enough so that he walked away from his passion project,
Ant-Man.
Besides speculating as to why Wright departed people have been wondering who might step in and direct
Ant-Man. El Mayimbe, who has been on a hot streak with his scoops of late, has news that Marvel Studios Co-President, Louis D'Esposito, who also directed the Marvel one-shots
Item 47 and
Agent Carter, is looking like the strongest candidate at the moment.
