Will Marvel Pick AGENT CARTER One-Shot Director For ANT-MAN?

Latino Review's scooper extraordinaire, El Mayimbe, believes he is hot the trailer of another big scoop and this involves who Marvel will choose to replace Edgar Wright as the director of Ant-Man.

A week ago, comic book movie fans were shocked to learn that Edgar Wright ("Shaun of the Dead"), who had been developing Ant-Man since 2006, had left the project which was to begin filming very soon. Since then, rumors have circulated that Marvel Studios did a last-minute rewrite of the script that Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish had written and what came back was a more generic script. That supposedly angered Wright enough so that he walked away from his passion project, Ant-Man.

Besides speculating as to why Wright departed people have been wondering who might step in and direct Ant-Man. El Mayimbe, who has been on a hot streak with his scoops of late, has news that Marvel Studios Co-President, Louis D'Esposito, who also directed the Marvel one-shots Item 47 and Agent Carter, is looking like the strongest candidate at the moment.

Marvel's "mite"-iest hero will hit theaters July 17, 2015 courtesy of director Edgar Wright, from a screenplay Edgar co-wrote with Joe Cornish. The film stars: Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. The cast also includes: Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, Corey Stoll, Patrick Wilson and Matt Gerald.

And just like that...interest is dead for me outside of the film being in the MCU.

But in all seriousness, as much as I love & trust Marvel. I feel they're just picking a "yes" man. I hope it turns out for the best but you just never know.

So uh, is this a good choice? I liked the Agent Carter one shot but I don't know if the guy can direct Ant-Man. Seriously wished Edgar Wright didn't leave, stupid creative differences!

His tweets read more like his sources say a new director has been chosen, not that Esposito is the strongest candidate. He calls that a guess three times.

im still dissapointed in wright leaving..its just very dissapointing..im still optimistic about this because it has a great cast and a good idea ..i just hope they hire a good director who can give us a good film..it just wont be with edgars wright unique style and thats dissapointing.....goddamn it....i was not concerned at all for this a bout a week or so ago but now its the only thing im worried about coming out of the MCU camp, im loving the guardians trailers and hopefully it is successful and good..the netflix shows look great, avengers age of ultron sounds great even though it does seem a little overcrowded but i think whedon will be able manage it all

It would be an interesting choice, he has been the executive producer of all Marvel films produced to date, and has a lot of experience as first assistance director. Maybe is about time Marvel gives him a chance at directing a flick.

D'Espisito makes sense cuz hes in house and if everything is already prepped, he can cleanly just go and execute.

I would much prefer the guy who directed the all hail the king one shot. Not a fan of the Esposito directed shorts
