Patrick Wilson's Orm was a fascinatingly complex villain in
Aquaman, and by the time all was said and done, the door was definitely left open for him to return down the line.
Now, the actor has confirmed that he'll be back for
Aquaman 2 and it sounds like director James Wan is planning to pull out all the stops for the follow-up.
"I’m slightly briefed [on Orm-related matters]," Wilson teased.
"I just throw a little dart here and there. I’ll say, ‘So, what about this?’ and [James Wan will] say, ‘Well, this is what I’m thinking.'"
"I can tell you that even his concepts for Aquaman 2 are pushing it even further," he concluded.
There's a lot of potential for Orm moving forward, despite the fact he's presumably behind bars in Atlantis after attempting to become the Ocean Master. After all, Arthur Curry was ready to forgive him and there are many more aspects to their relationship that
Aquaman 2 could end up exploring.
Written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, Aquaman 2 is set to be released on December 16, 2022.

Atlantis' Mother Box
When Atlanna is telling the young Arthur all about the trident, look closely at the coffee table and it seems as if that's not the only Atlantean relic she's recreated for the purpose of letting her son know all about where he comes from.
There's also a small box which is quite clearly meant to be the Mother Box and this would explain who the adult Arthur knows so much about its history when he crosses paths with the like of Batman and Wonder Woman in Justice League. It's hard to spot but a cool reference to the wider DCEU.
