Aaron Taylor-Johnson Talks His Deal With Marvel, Working With Joss Whedon, And More

In the video above, Aaron Taylor-Johnson sat down with Collider and when he was asked about whether or not he signed a multi-picture deal with Marvel, he hesitated, and said he can’t talk about the details of his contract. While he avoided answering that question completely, he did reveal a deleted action sequence for Avengers: Age of Ultron in which “Quicksilver ran around Thor, who was on fire, in order to put him out.” Pretty awesome right? After saying how much he enjoyed working with Director Joss Whedon, he revealed whether or not he would show up in Godzilla 2! He said that decision is inevitably up to Gareth Edwards and whatever he and the other writers decide to do with the film. Even though Kevin Feige confirmed that Quicksilver died, is it possible that he could show up in Captain America: Civil War or possibly Avengers: Infinity War? What do you think CBMers? Sound off below with your thoughts!

It's telling if he can't discuss the details of his contract, ya know??

I mean if it was a one-picture deal, his contract is over and he'd mention a new deal or an extension.

If it is a multi-picture deal, which seems to be the case, then he's still under contract for another/more films and explains why he can't discuss details of said contract.

Or at least that's my deductive reasoning.

If he comes back Age of Ultron will drop as of quality. Instead of an 8 it'll be a 6

Marvel finally decides to keep someone dead and they decide it has to be Quicksilver. Such a travesty. I honestly did not expect to like him that much.

He'll be back in Civil War. He'll be in a coma, will suddenly wake up and turn the battle in Cap's favour.

What a waste. That being said he added little to the movie and I didn't like his portrayal at all so Im perfectly happy keeping QS with the X-Men i.e. where he belongs

I'm torn on this. I definitely want him to be back, he was awesome! On the other hand the MCU desperately needs to start letting dead people stay dead...

He'll be back.

Marvel has never killed off a hero yet.

Scarlett Witch or the Infinity Gauntlet or his advanced metabolism or some other random plot device.

The fact that Quicksilver died is irrelevant. It's the sacrifice to save Hawkeye and that kid he rescued is what holds weight. Him being brought back doesn't nothing to diminish that action of heroism.

I like ATJ. He's a great actor. Really calm and easy-going. I hope his career expands further. He was good in Savages.

House MCU

hahaha, I kid!

I do believe bringing characters back from the dead, undermines the stakes of the film and lessens the impact their deaths had on said film. More importantly, it sets an unneeded/unwanted precedent because you can't close Pandora's box. From now on whenever a character dies it doesn't have the same impact because fans/viewers will just think/hope/expect they can be brought back to life. Whedon said as much about Coulson's death. Time will tell if Feige & the writers of the upcoming films negate another character Whedon killed off. haha.
And it's not just the MCU, I hated it on Arrow too. So, you can bring Oliver back and Thea back, but not Sara??

Glad this wasn't in the film. The film was perfect the way it is.

@SageMode You get it! Coulson was an accommodate. One that everyone on the team knew and associated with, some even for years. It hit them where it hurt, and was the playing factor in them "avenging". So bringing him back destroyed the purpose. Quicksilver died protecting his fellow newfound allies. This lost soul, coming into his own and realizing what it meant to be a hero. If you brought him back, no harm, no foul. It'd be welcomed. I do like the "Nathaniel Pietro Barton" easter egg though.

Coulson should have stayed dead....

Quicksilver is an entirely different story....

Plus, Coulson technically is dead in the movies

If it's irrelevant then he would've only been seriously injured and we'd have gotten the "awww, he survived!" moment at the end when the new Avengers As..., haha.

We know they're putting their lives in danger to save people and the planet, but he actually gave his life to save Hawkeye and the little boy's lives.

There's most definitely a difference! It's like enlisting in the military & being in combat vs being killed in combat.

@DrKinsolving Yeah sure he is dead in the movies, but isn't Agents Of Shield apart of the MCU? I don't watch that shit of a show but i'm 99.9% sure AOS is apart of the MCU.

@XMenMarvelFan

Yeah, AOS is definitely part of the MCU, that's why I said "technically" he's dead in the movie....

AOS is cool though, they've been doing some really cool stuff with the Inhumans and the show tied in nice to Age of Ultron
