For some time now, I've been sitting on this really ridiculous idea that many members of this site have laughed at; but with the official synopsis for
Avengers: Age of Ultron seemingly indicates that The Avengers will have to work alongside people they perhaps don't trust. Here's the aforementioned quote from the synopsis if you've forgotten:
As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Now this can be viewed in many ways, and before I throw a bunch of nonsense at you, lets consider who this could be reffering to:
Pietro and Wanda Maximoff
Now this is the easiest answer to go with. We know that at the beginning of the movie, Wanda and Pietro are not on The Avengers side, and in fact it may take some convincing to have them join The Avengers. Why am I skeptical that this isn't who the synopsis refers to? Because it's easy to say that the begrudging two who will eventually become Avengers are in an 'uneasy alliance' but something tells me it's not like these two will be begrudging throughout the whole movie. I mean yes in the first movie the members fought amongst themselves, but eventually they bond and become the team they need to be. This is ultimately why I think it's not the Maximoffs, if anything it's a clever Red Herring.
Vision
So yes, Vision is confirmed for
Age of Ultron and I couldn't be more excited! While he's more then likely going to be a villain at first, I don't think it'll be an overly uneasy alliance as Vision is ultimately a heroic figure with strong will. He's not the sort of person you need to distrust.
Hydra
So this is my runner up for who I think The Avengers will ally with. With Hydra a reemerging threat in the modern world, I think that in many regards Ultron could pose as much a threat to them as it would the entire world. It's like the saying goes: 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend'. While Hydra seemingly has no reason to side with SHIELD and The Avengers, I would imagine apocalypse brought on by a murderous robot ought to do it!
The Masters Of Evil
So this is my main theory, the numero uno, and I'm willing to admit: I think that
Age of Ultron will introduce a very rudimentary version of the Masters of Evil. In this sense, every hero would have to make an unlikely alliance with a personal foe of his or hers. Now if they did the team, it's highly unlikely that Loki would be involved as he's currently happy as King. That said this is a list I scrounged together of possible entries into the inaugural 'Masters of Evil'
-
Franklin Hall (AKA Gravitron)
-
Samuel Sterns (AKA The Leader)
-
Justin Hammer
-
Aldrich Killian (?)
-
The Abomination
-
Brock Runlow
-
Red Skull (?)
Now this is obviously just a theory but in truth these are all villains who are not confirmed to be dead. These villains all seemingly exist in one way, shape, or form; and like The Avengers, they may have a reason to band together to stop Ultron. I mean, Earth's their conquest but they can't rule it if everyone is dead!
It's also possible the Hydra will form this Masters of Evil and that those two will join SHIELD and The Avengers. I mean that to me says 'uneasy alliance'
What do you think? Am I crazy off my rocker or do you think I have a point? Would you love to see the Masters of Evil on screen? Well comment below and like this article, because let's be honest, it was a joy to read.
