You were probably disappointed if you were hoping to see Adam Warlock in Avenger: Infinity War. The character had a big role in the comic book counterpart, The Infinity Gauntlet - fans had every reason to speculate on Adam's appearance. However, the character was never slated to appear in the film.
That didn't stop fans, there was some hope Adam could show up in the untitled Avengers 4 movie. Now, Joe and Anthony russo confirmed the character will not appear in the next Avengers film.
“Yeah [Adam Warlock]’s not showing up in our stories,” Joe revealed. “Our job as we said a million times is to tell the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not to do direct adaptations of the comics because we’re comic book fans.”
The director goes on to explain that a good mystery is always appreciated.
“If I know all the events story as they’re going to happen then what’s the point of going to the film?” he continued. “We want to keep surprising audiences and continue the story that started with Iron Man […] a decade ago.”
James Gunn has also stated that we might not see the character in 2020's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Whenever Adam shows up, fans will surely cheer.
