Many fans hoped Avengers: Infinity War might end with a first look at Avengers 4 but it now appears as if that trailer is a long way off (especially as Marvel Studios won't have a presence at Comic-Con this year). During a recent interview, Joe Russo started off by saying that he has "no idea" when that first look might drop but hinted that it won't be until after he and Anthony are done editing the sequel.
"We haven’t cut any of the film together yet," he reveals. "We’ll have to see. We’ll get it set for the next two or three months." Don't bank on the trailer being attached to Venom, though, because Anthony made it clear that they still have some reshoots to do and Avengers 4 is far from complete.
"Joe and I always talk about it, there’s this filmmaking adage that goes, ‘You make a movie three times over: when you write it, when you shoot it, and when you edit it," the filmmaker explains. "And so, right now, we have not edited that movie at all. So we haven’t even gone through that whole phase of finding that film. Not only that, we haven’t even completely finished shooting it. We still have to shoot some stuff to complete the movie even though we’ve shot the vast majority of it."
Chances are the Avengers 4 trailer will be online by November/December time, especially as the highly anticipated sequel is set to be released next May. If nothing else, these remarks from the Russos do clear things up somewhat and, as many of us expected, it won't be online until the end of the year.
