Sebastian Stan, who has been part of the now 10 year long Marvel Cinematic Universe since almost the beginning, playing Captain America's sidekick and
boyfriend
James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger. He then went on to reprise the role in arguably two of the best entries in the franchise The Winter Soldier and Civil War crafting the most interesting and conflicted of chracter in the MCU.
While we shall see him return to the role of the metal armed soldier in the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War, and many still speculate and hope he will take the mantle of Captain America from Chris Evans one day, it appears that Stan isn't only interested in the Marvel side of comic book characters.
During a Q&A session at Wizard World, the Political Animals actor was asked about who he might want to play in a DC movie, and his answer was the iconic Batman villain The Riddler, who he calls his favorite DC character. Explaining further, Stan revealed:
“And honestly, I would not know what to do with the character at all. But it’s such a crazy, crazy character. Maybe I wouldn’t.”
Fans present also suggested The Joker but Stan was less enthusiastic at the prospect of that pointing out how many great actors have already played that role (making special note of his apparent doppelganger
Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Mark Hamill).
It is currently uncertain if or when we will ever see The Riddler in WarnerBros DC film slate, though with
The Batman still in production,
Nightwing having it's first script handed in and apparent movement on a new DC Banner -- that might see Joaquin Phoenix take on the aforementioned character of The Joker no less, who's to know how real this could become.
What do you think? Would you like to see Sebastion Stan take on the role of Riddler? Is there another DC character you think he would better suit? Or should he just stick to MARVEL? Leave your thoughts below.
