What was the point of putting in work for that new design? I didn’t see him to one thing during the flippin final battle. It should’ve been a 360 shot of the iron man trinity (Tony, Rhodes and Pepper) fighting back to back or something. Huge missed opportunity.

Moichandising.

@XelCorp - also, why is this iron patriot? Iron man 3 made it clear that this was just a publicity thing with the government and rhodey was very much against it, preferring war machine. It just seems like a last minute reference for im3 since they realized they didn't include anything for that movie.

@XelCorp - This armor could still be done by an outside source and not Tony... don't know if that was established... since AIM may be no more... maybe Oscorp.

@JonC - In that case maybe it doesn't interact so well close quarters with IM and Rescue... might be best to be on its own.

@Tonic24k - so much for that avengers fatigue bullsh*t people were trying to talk when Age Of Ultron made less then Avengers.

@Tonic24k - Who would have thought that a company 15-20 years ago that had no faith in their characters would sell them off and then later dominate the box office with said characters for a decade and then do it again.

Don Cheadle is so under used in the MCU.

it seems someone in Marvel's design team is a fan of Gundam Wing

Neat design. Shame I couldnt see the brilliant colors with all the soot and darkness in the scene.

Also I have no clue what this suit is capable of because Rhodey oddly enough has no major action scenes in the entire film smh.

I must say, going on other sites and going to the comments...it doesn’t seem like anyone is really excited for Phase 4. It’s like night and day vs this site. But people seem so clueless. They don’t realize how F4 and X-Men take time, they don’t realize how there can be a female Thor etc. When Iron Man and Thor were announced no one knew how big Marvel would become. Now people are sad all over the world because Stark is gone lol.

Marvel knows what they’re doing. They’ll get us to care about Eternals and Shang Chi just like they got us to care about a talking Raccoon and Tree. But I bet those same people bashing Phase 4 will be there opening day. I mean all the money the MCU has made cake from somewhere right? Lol.

@Frshcoupe - Not many loved the beginning of phase 1... only IM was given respect... but 10 yrs in and look how they love them... the new characters will take time too but i am sure it will be much less than 10 years before the fans love them. Making movies in the manner seems very experimental, see what works and don't do what doesn't work in future movies... Marvel just seems to be upping their game each year... like some sort of Hollywood AI Skynet sucking up info.

The colours are crap.
I had no idea that was Rhodey when he came swooping in either.

I [frick]ing loved that armour in the movie but I had no [frick]ing idea where it came from 😂

Hope we get more Don Cheadle in the future, Rhodey has been criminally underused in the MCU.

Imagine Norman Osborn getting his hands on this suit 👀👀👀👀👀👀
JonC
JonC - 7/22/2019, 1:57 PM
@Frshcoupe - War Machine has always been farmed out tech since he stole the first suit... who is to say Osborn is not involved in this one... Osborn may have taken AIM's place as a government contractor once 'the real mandarin' was killed.

I thought that the armor was grey/black in the movie
JonC
JonC - 7/22/2019, 1:59 PM
@mikeandre - the black and silver WM armor got trapped under the rubble of avengers HQ when thanos attacked. the iron patriot armor was used after he got freed by ant man.

That is just sick. This armor wins on intimidating looks over any other IM armor in MCU imho. I may have to pick this up in Hong Kong at the end of the year.

There should have been a scene where Rhodey retrieves the Iron Patriot armor underneath the rubble of the Avengers HQ. And also give him a chance to fully show off its firepower during the battle.
