AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Directors Are Excited To See Marvel's BLACK WIDOW Movie Delve Into Her Past

We recently heard that Marvel Studios is working on a Black Widow movie and rumour has it that it will be released in 2020. We'll have to wait and see on that front (it's still very early days for the project) but if you thought you were excited to finally see it become a reality, that pales in comparison to how Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 directors Joe and Anthony Russo feel about the movie!

Asked for their thoughts in a recent interview, Anthony said: "It's crazy exciting, yeah." Joe went on to add that he's looking forward to seeing this spinoff delve into the character's often very dark past.

"Yeah, we're very happy for that. I mean it's such a rich and interesting character. There's so much to explore with a character whose history was as a villain, and you know, Scarlett does such a good job of playing that character and people are so used to that character that you forget the character's history, and so there's a lot of compelling stories to tell about someone who has a dark past."

Scarlett Johansson has played Natasha Romanoff since Iron Man 2 way back in 2010 but there's definitely still room for more stories to be told involving the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Would you like to revisit her past? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below.

@QueenCipher -

Yes... they really nailed Black Widow's character in;

- Winter Soldier by having her flirt with Steve and do nothing but steal something and possess Deus Ex Machina technology that hides her identity, oh and she fought briefly

- Civil War by having her flirt with Steve and do nothing except have a tiny disagreement with Tony and help Steve, oh and she fought briefly

@Scarilian - So I guess guys and gals can't just be friends in your book. In both movies I never thought she was flirty with Steve, just a good friend. The most "romantic" moment they shared was the cliche spy kiss. Which she treated more practically than emotionally.
