That thor comic was printed in may. It's pretty good, as it's mainly about Loki.

So are these bad boys MCU canon?

Or just inspired by the films?

These are obviously not Marvel U canon. Look at the $hitty movie costume Cap is wearing.

I like Lim's artwork. Not the greatest but certainly a whole lot better than half of the total crap artwork they have been throwing at us the last decade or so.

@ Victor: You and me are on the same page here. I absolutely love the style and Surfer was one of my biggest buys in the 90's

I don't get it? Why is Caps costume '$hitty'?

Hey soundwave129,

This is actually a better version than the one printed in May. If you look at it closely, this version seems to have wider panels. It looks like the artwork got a bit chopped off in the May release.

Not at all I think this is the best artwork Ive seen of the Movieverse costumes thus far. (except the original concept piece)

@ Niknik
That sounds like something a H8er would say. Its not supposed to be 616. The costume looks amazing in my opinion.

This look awesome! I don't understand why so many of you are being haters about this. This is what it's all about! These types of projects right here directly link real physical comic books to the comic book movies we're all here to celebrate. It's such a beautiful cycle - comic books inspire the movies and then we get comic books based off of the movie universe to expand the story that we only get to see about two hours of in each shot. These books enhance the experience that we come here to share a love of and I can't wait for even more to be released

Boy that take's me way back, the Ron Lim run was one the best and i loved the one shot he did called Death trap the Vault. I went with my son to an all comic's are a dollor comic shop after we had watched GL, and he was looking and he started picking out the Ron Lim Silver Surfer's and i had never even shown him those before. The kid was taught well and has good taste. The Vault was about a bunch of villian's that break out of prison, and it has a cool cover with Venom on it.

Ron Lim's work on Captain America in the 90's was fantastic! It looks like his style has changed, but it's still good.

Got A Ron Lim Captain America pencilled on an actual Marvel artboard as a commission years ago,and it still looks great hanging on my wall.Tempted to have him do a movie Cap this year at the Con.Always in Artist's alley, only charges 40 bucks drawing, well worth it...

@ Orphix - $hitty as in a $hitload of useless grey and brown straps that serve no purpose but to detract from the colors of the flag he is supposed to be wearing. Cheesey looking hockey pads stuffed everywhere. All useless "tweaks" that detract from the proper design. Doesn't look AT ALL like it belongs in the period. The one they are touting as the version he will wear in The Avengers is light years better than that piece of crap.

If not liking the First Avenger uniform makes me a "hater" in someones narrow mind than so be it. I happen to love Captain America and most of his history, but I absolutely hate that cheesy, corny looking hockey padded, busy as hell with grey and brown strapped abomination they dressed him up in for this film.

Get rid of all the useless brown straps and grey patchwork pieces to that thing and put the red stripes on the mid section and it goes from garbage to gold in my opinion.

Do they EVER put as much effort in to making the tie-ins as they do the movies? The artwork for the Cap tie-in is pretty cool, but the writing is a little clunky.

it looks terrible, now marvel is drawing thor without his battle helmet he looks just like brad pitt what a big joke
DEFENDER
DEFENDER - 7/1/2011, 1:04 PM
it's like looking at any other longhaired blond actor so not having thor wear the helmet makes his comic movies even his image just so damn boring!
DEFENDER
DEFENDER - 7/1/2011, 1:05 PM
he sure as hell doesn't appear to be anything much like a viking warrior without the helmet.
DEFENDER
DEFENDER - 7/1/2011, 1:07 PM
why was idris elba allowed to keep his helmet on for the entire movie & not the title character thor?
DEFENDER
DEFENDER - 7/1/2011, 1:10 PM
it's clear to everyone that chris hemsworth is a very handsome actor/supergood looks so now can marvel please portray thor with the winged helmet.
