While I'm pretty sure the rumors that director Joss Whedon would be shooting The Avengers in 3D were debunked some time ago (although I may be wrong about that) one of the stars of the movie has now taken to his Twitter account to put an end to them once and for all. Mark Ruffalo, who as I'm sure you already know plays Bruce Banner in the highly anticipated superhero team-up, told one eager fan that it's not being filmed in 3D as you can see from the screengrab below. Many thanks to the people who asked the questions.
While this may initially seem disappointing (after all, the 3D conversion for
THOR wasn't exactly perfect) I'm glad that they're spending money on other things...you know, like making the most epic comic book movie ever! Regardless, are you disappointed by this news? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!
With an all star cast which includes Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Rufallo as Bruce Banner, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Tom Hiddleston as Loki,
The Avengers is set to be released on May 4, 2012!
