Avengers Assemble!

Marvel's flagship superhero team are being utilised once again by Disney for the Avengers Half Marathon at Disneyland (California). The Half Marathon, which runs through November 12 - November 15, has a variety of different races, each with their own special reward, in the form of a custom Avengers Half Marathon medal. The medals certainly are neat little rewards, and are a great incentive to participate in the athletic event. The medals are as follows:

Ant-Man Medallion

Marvel's smallest hero for Disney's smallest race, the Ant-Man medallion is a rather cartoon-y design, aimed towards younger children who run Disney's Kid Races at the half marathon.

Thor Medallion

The Mighty Avenger, Thor, gets the honour of being the theme for the 5K medallion. The medallion features Thor's almighty hammer, Mjolnir, and is surrounded with a ring of Norse runes.

Captain America Medallion

The First Avenger gets a pretty awesome medallion, making for an awesome incentive to run that 10K race. As you can obviously tell by now, the further you run, the less cartoon-like this medallions are. The medal features a military theme in terms of the font, and Cap's shield as the design.

Avengers Medals

The ultimate medallion is, of course, designed with an Avengers theme. If you run the full 21k, you get rewarded with this incredible medallion. It has a very platinum look to it, and features the Avengers logo on one side, and Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye are all represented on the other side.

What do you guys think? Are these medallions worth the distance of the races? Are you entering any of the races when the event kicks off? Make sure to let me know in the comments below, and don't forget to share and hit that thumbs up button!

Man, these look pretty cool; especially Cap's. I'm curious as to why they didn't do an 'Iron Man' one.

@FriendORFaux

No idea, my best guess is that it might be because Ant-Man isn't exactly the most physical superhero.
Thor and Cap are incredibly strong and durable, and use that in their fights. And as for Ant-Man, he still got into shape and learnt some martial arts and what not. Best reason I can think of.

Maybe, it just seems strange that they would miss an opportunity to exploit one of their top characters. The only thing I can think of is they didn't want to be mistakenly associated with the Ironman Triathlon somehow. IDK...

Why is Thor 5K and Cap 10K? I'm pretty sure Thor would beat Cap in a foot race and beat him in distance.

@FriendORFaux

Yeah, no matter what way you look at it, it is pretty weird

@Ramiel

Cap probably tested better as a fan favourite or some such business
