Quicksilver's hair?

Quicksilver's hair?

What is with both Fox and now Marvel introducing their respective Quicksilvers with longer hair than us comic book fans will be accustomed to?

So just a quick thought on why both Fox and Marvel's Quicksilvers have longish hair... because it seems to be annoying a lot of people... most of which seem to be DC Fanboys funnily enough but thats another story. I hold no allegiances and have followed both major comic book brands for years but I just thought I'd weigh in on this one as its already getting silly.

Both companies (Fox and Marvel) have used a longer hair style to add another level of 'finish' to their respective speed effects. We all know that it is the little, almost unnoticeable things within the great effects scenes that leave the audience feeling they have witnessed quality. Its quite obvious that both QS' will have hair that in super-slo-mo will dislplay the raw inertia overpowering gravity as the hair will be whipped back and then back and forth as he darts in and out of the various obstacles within the scene. It will be a very little (some would say inconsequential) thing that if executed will look fantastic.

Oh and ATJ's QS costume from the A:AOU shoot... pretty sure he is simply a guy who has developed unbelievable powers of speed and obviously thought a speed skaters tunic is the obvious choice to reduce drag etc. I would wager that his outfit will be drastically changed and 'professionally' desiged (as in counter-supervillain ops) by the time Coulson (or whomever) gets his chance to design more Super-duds!

Now all you have to do is open the image in another tab, copy the link, then do the HTML way of posting a pic.

Did anyone else feel like the new DOFP trailer was kinda meh? I mean it looks alright visually but it feels like something is missing.
Anyways, nice editorial!

We haven't seen the official image of QS in AoU YET. Once we do, I think we can judge at that point. Plus, there can an explanation to this not being his final costume.

This quicksilver looks great. Not into spandex jumpsuits.

Yeah people need to stop thinking that anything Marvel makes is gold. They are leading the superhero charge right now but just like the other studios they have problems. & well, Fox QS does look laughable, but then again he is dressed appropriately for the 70's.

Aaron Johnson is inspired casting for this part, I have no doubt he'll be amazing. I just honestly don't see why they went with longer hair, they should've made it shorter, with a silver/dark brown mix of hair, or gone the full thing (which may not have translated too well)

I think probably they want their silver hair to be all "flowy" when they're running.

I watched AMC movie talk today and a good point was brought up, QS is dressed in 70s attire on X:DOFP.

While i agree it looks ridiculous, that's how people dressed back then.

@GoldSlayer1

I find it kind of sad that people need John Campea to point this out.

They both look bad, but at least I can believe DOFP's. IT funny how when Marvel Studios is brought up people say things like "there can an explanation to this not being his final costume."
But if it's Fox related, then there is no chance, its automatically bad and will always be bad.

Just for the record, no Fox employees were killed in the writing of this short observational... why with all the self-righteousness people?

QS in A:AOU could have longer hair 'cause he and SW were held captive for a time , how much time? We don't know. After escapin' he could very well get a hair cut and shave. We'll have to wait and see.
