The interview begins with Scarlett discussing the resolute dedication needed during training and filming that's required to make sure you look the part and can fit into your costume. From there, things get a little more interesting. When discussing all the cosplaying female fans in attendance at the Captain America 2 screening, Johansson revealed that:
"There were all kinds of characters [at the premiere]. There was a Ms. Marvel, there was a Wasp and a lot of Black Widows out there...one thing I got from all of them is that there is space- they're excited to see [a] female represented in these movies. I think Marvel's kind of heard that note and you'll see some pretty strong female characters in Avengers 2 coming up."
The natural assumption would be that Johansson is referring to her Avengers: Age of Ultron costar Elizabeth Olsen who is confirmed to play Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch. But is it possible another female hero or villain will receive meaningful screen time in The Avengers sequel? Perhaps Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill will be given more to do this time around? Or will some other Marvel Cinematic Universe heroines make a cameo?
