As soon as it was announced at SDCC that DC were working on an animated adaptation of The Killing Joke, we all hoped that Mark Hamill would return to voice the Clown Prince of Crime.

Fans rejoice! Mark Hamill will indeed provide the voice for The Joker in DC's animated take on Alan Moore's The Killing Joke, which is due out next year. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor had already expressed interest in reprising the iconic role for the movie, but sources have confirmed to Collider that it's definitely going to happen - in fact, word is he's already recorded his voice acting!

Mark Hamill has voiced the character on many different occasions, from Batman: The Animated Series, to the likes of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Birds of Prey, and more recently the Arkham Asylum video games. Alan Moore's graphic novel is widely considered to be the definitive Joker story, so it's great to hear that Hamill will be back. Now, fingers crossed that Kevin Conroy will also return as Batman!

I remember him saying that he wanted to do the killing joke for a while and that's the only way he'd return to voice the joker

That's a shame. The Killing Joke is adult fare, and Hamill's gawd-awful Joker voice was one of the few mars on the animated series, but it was for kids so okay. That idiot who screwed up The Joker's voice in TDKR film is forever in my sights. High pitched, shrill and British-y Joker was always bad, but we should know better by now! Like TDKR, I was excited, but now I know they've screwed up the Joker voice again; In a classic, no less. Get your stuff together DC.

@LEVITIKUZ

Haha, that scene is cool, but it's kind of weird without Gordon, I think in the comic Joker shoots her from the front too

Can't wait for Killing Joke

I wonder how far they'll take the adaptation
