Deathstroke looks cool in it!

Looks sweet.

What I wanna know is it Pre Flashpoint or NEW 52?

Not the best but still good movie.

Just Watched it. honestly, it's not that great IMO. The dialog is baddd and they change certain things pertaining to the source material but the animation is great. We'll when you compare this to every other DC animated movie, it falls flat. You've been warned :)

Saw this movie last night, 7/10. The story was decent and Deathstroke plot for the movie was dumb. Also for them to hire Gincarlo Espisito to play Ra Al Ghul and only have him in the movie for about 5 minutes sucked. Damian Wayne was definetly the highlight of the movie.

Gibson as Deathstroke stole the show.

Definitely new 52 but I'm not sure if Tim Drake became Robin because Batman never mentioned him or Jason Todd.

@braniac13 I actually felt that Damian stole the show. I'm sorry but the whole Deathstroke and Professor Langstrom plot seemed like an 80's GI Joe Cobra Commander type of plan.

Wait... why is one of the special features for the Dark Knight Returns? Those films already came out... or is it for the graphic novel?

This movie was HIGHLY disappointing. SOME of the animation was good, but honestly, there's nothing really good to say about it so I'll just stop here.

It wasn't bad, but it's no Red Hood or Allstar Superman.

Since the DC animation entered the new 52 era, so far the two animation film are kinda disappointing, the quality just can't stay in line with pre-Flashpoint ones, many of them I can give 8 or higher score, but for these two, JL war and Son of Batman probaly 7. I think major problem is the story is not good enough and fighting looks not impressive, characters' settings are not well established.

@TonyChu I agree with you on the plot, it was really dumb and pretty straight forward, with no layers to it whatsoever. I would've given it a 3.2/5.

I thought it was actually better than I was expecting. I liked JL: War a lot more, but I fully understand why some people are thrown off by this new direction WB animation is going with their movies.

There's something I can't quite explain that's missing from both these movies that were in the previous DC animated stuff. It's not just that we don't have the traditional voice actors, it's something else.

Amazing how you guys hate this movie, but the fans on Tumblr (read: female fans) love it, except for the casuality about Talia raping Bruce.

@Batcheek8 I don't see anyone here hating, just giving an honest opinion. I've seen the movie, and it was okay, not that good. I hope you've seen it so you know what you're talking about?

Let me rephrase, you guys are less positive. And yes I've seen it, and loved it, except for the rape thing, that was pretty disgusting.

@BatCheek8 Lol I loved that part ahhaha. Maybe 'cause I'm a perv, but that's another matter. What made you love it, except Damien who surely is the gem of the movie?

LOL!

Even the clips did this movie no favors.
Terrible voice acting, horrible plot, ridiculous inaccurate characterization (poor Deathstroke WTF?) and Ras Al Ghul is a friggin Jedi Knight.

Deflecting automatic weapons fire from multiple sources with a damn sword then leaping around 30 feet in the air.

Did he tap into The Force?
batcheeks8
batcheeks8 - 4/18/2014, 4:04 PM
@Arrow96

Err.. well.. they basically tried to trivialise and sexualise rape and that's NOT ok. That whole case of Morrison retconning the story and turning Talia into a rapist is so.. ugh. I see no reason why they had to keep that part in there when the rest of the movie was only so-so based on Batman and Son. It grates on me because they steered away from portraying Talia as a monster like in Batman Inc. and I liked that, but this little detail really taints it in my opinion. Drugging someone into having sex with you (rape) isn't sexy and it shouldn't be portrayed as such.

I loved it indeed mostly because of Damian who I adore. :) But there were also the little moments between Damian and Bruce, Alfred, and Dick that really made the movie. I also thought the fight sequences were well done! It would've been even better if Tim and Jason (and Barbara maybe?) had been in it, I love the Batfamily..
Arrow96
Arrow96 - 4/18/2014, 4:15 PM
@Batcheek8 I haven't read any comics because they're unavailabe in my country, so I just had an idea who Damien is, not what he's like. He made the movie for me, unfortunately I felt that Batman was a pretty weak character. Damien's interaction with Dick was fun to watch. And I agree about the rape thing lol. As for the fight scenes, they were good, some parts were executed poorly but it was fun overall. Also I found the overall plot to be somewhat dumb and lazy, so yeah, that's why I didn't love it.

i love Damian but this is terrible movie just like justice league war then again it is based on new 52 which is crap
ManDeth

I saw this days ago. It was not as bad as Justice League War but it wasn't good either.
Very poor animation which like War is as bad as late 80's animation. The story never seemed monumental enough for 90 minutes. And it was strange how Slade Wilson was turned into a coward and loser.
Most of this seemed like a rehash of Tim Drake's story. Damian is supposed to be Bruce's rape child, but every interaction between them is nothing we haven't seen before. Every Batman TAS episode was better than this.
WB wanted to throw something out there to make a quick buck off of Batman and that's all this is.

sad to say that it was meh. The animated flicks are usually great but this and War have been really disappointing.

I think the guy who voice over the batman/Bruce wayne really did well.

the choreographer for the fighting scene I thought was good.

I dont think most people need to compare this with btas since this is the new era of dc animation.it improves a lot since btas

Wasn't bad, but I've never really known Deathstroke to be that much of a whiner. Damien is still a little asshole. Reallllllllly glad that he managed to grow as a character up till he died. I was actually a little mad when he died I was just starting to like him.

I really didn't like this movie for me two bad movies in a row, bring back Bruce Timm, so DC animation needs to get their act together. The voice acting was terrible Deathstroke's VA especially sounded bored and uninterested. The sub plot of the movie with the Man Bat Ninja Army was pretty silly even for a comic book they could have come up with a much better story. Deathstroke himself went from being one of the most badass DC villains to a whiny sore loser really didn't like that. The plot itself had a number of conveniences that would pop up purely to continue the story like Deathstroke's second in command just happens to come to Gotham for his off time or that Batman decided to stay in London which was farely close to the exact oil platform Damien needed to get to.
Humperdink
Humperdink - 4/18/2014, 10:32 PM
Deathstroke came across as a whiny weakling that got knocked around by a little boy and his dad.

Seriously, Daimen must be part Kryptonian to be kicking those huge men around the room like rag dolls.

He was seriously nerfed.

@batcheeks8,

Females love ANYTHING to do with Nightwing. He's got a tumblr page dedicated to his ass, alone.

I've seen this movie. FANTASTIC animation, but I give the story a 6/10. It's not terrible, but it's not the best. I rank it down there with Green Lantern and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.

Of course I consider the problem to be the story. It's by James Robinson, who's at the height of mediocrity right now. Tying Deathstroke to Ra's al Ghul the way he did just didn't make any sense for the character and comes across as the biggest flaw. He shouldn't have been used this way.

I'd have rather seen Nightwing vs Damian within the movie, but the credits gave us screen captures of the fight. Regardless, all the fight choreography was in tip top form, especially that last fight between Damian and Slade. Also, I don't get the impression that Slade is superhuman in this movie. He comes across as an efficient swordsman and marksman, but pre-super soldier serum.

I gotta say Andrea Romano is off her game. With the exception of Batman and Talia, the voice actors were just terrible. Deathstroke's voice was awful and all of the actors were just flat in timing and pacing. I don't know why Damian has an American accent. He wasn't even born in the Western hemisphere. He should have an exotic accent like his grandfather and mother and possess a certain haughty flair when he speaks because he knows he's better than everyone. Seriously, she's off her game like every other movie now.

Those are my main problems with the movie. Again, it's not a terrible movie, but I wouldn't rank it in the top 10 of DC's animated films.

Fingers crossed for the Batman/Suicide Squad movie. I'm really looking forward to that one.
