Batman: Arkham Knight ended by killing off Bruce Wayne and bringing Rocksteady's incredible trilogy to a close. Despite the Caped Crusader's death, rumours have persisted that a follow-up might be in the works, and one is now heading our way in the form of Gotham Knight.
While more of a spiritual successor than a direct follow-up, that takes place in a world where Batman died and his family, Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood, have all stepped up in his place. However, rumours have persisted for years that a project involving Damian Wayne might be in the works and some leaked concept art reveals a better idea of what that was going to be.
As you'll see below, Bruce would have returned as a much older Batman, while an adult Damian was set to be kitted out in a Batsuit with a lot of similarities to the Batman Beyond one!

We don't know why this didn't happen or if it could be resurrected down the line, but it appears this title didn't get past the early development stage. It's a shame because playing as Damian and an older Dark Knight might have been a lot of fun and would serve as a nice epilogue to those Arkham games.
Of course, with Rockstead developing Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, this might not have been the sequel many fans of their beloved franchise would want. Still, we'd have loved to see what direction this story would have headed in and how it might have built on the events of Arkham Knight.
What do you guys think? Does this sound better than Gotham Knights?
