Great stuff. I watched TDK again last night with teh other half. Seriously amazing film each and every time. The nit pickers can pick nits all they want. Great films will always have detractors. And nothing is perfect, some things I didn't like too, but overall its definitely the king of CBMs so far for me. batman Begins next. Yeah we did it backwards but didn't have a copy lying around!

Awesome work as always ED. I have to agree with ROR that The Dark Knight is the best CBM ever. (closely followed by Spider-Man 2, Iron Man and Watchmen) However, I'm not a big fan of Batman Begins. It was well made, but I just didnt enjoy it a fraction as much as the sequel.

Nolan's two Batman films as well as Favreau's two Iron Man films are the best CBMs, in my opinion. These two franchises really did as near a perfect job as a film adaptation can be done.

I have complete trust in Nolan on the third Batman film. And also trust him for the Superman: Man of Steel film too.

I think Batman Begins is the better movie.

I consider both of Nolan's Bat-movies to be the very best from the CBM world so far. Spiderman 2 and Iron Man 1 are enjoyable as well but nowhere near the class of Nolan's movies. The rest of them, I don't care much for.

Best 5 (cant choose between them, have tried and tried, to no avail)

-Iron Man I-II (what's wrong with you people for not listing ion man?!?!?!), Hulk, TDK & begins

6. Watchmen
7. Transformers (the first!!)

It's interesting how expressive he sounds. These days, it seems, he really chooses his words carefully, and portrays himself as a very serious English filmmaker. That or he's just super jaded from all the nit-pickey comic fans constantly badgering him for information. :p

@magic8, I've asked myself the same question too. Amazing.

bah you guys are often like broken records... this argument has been had thousands of times over here.

If Spidey 2 deserves no credit for anything else at all it's really one of the premier innovators in blending digital with practical effects.

two words: Doc Oc

Plus

Anyone who knows anything at all about movies, knows almost everything in Spiderman 2 comes out of story and/or character... that alone makes it above average.

Nolan just has wisdom that many people lack (in Hollywood) imo. And he's now consciously working with archetypes to combine classicism and inspired artistry with modern film making. A very rare sort of person, and we're lucky to have had things go the way they did... or maybe it was just meant to be that way =)

@SuspenseSmith Agreed! Bay gives off such a creepy 'casting couch' kinda vibe. Nolan's all class!
