Cool Maquettes Of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES' Bane & THE INCREDIBLE HULK

Hollywood sculptor, Mario Torres, worked on maquettes of Bane (Tom Hardy) for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises and an alternate version of The Incredible Hulk for Louis Leterrier's 2008 film. Come see these physical models of the 2 characters.

"This is a "Bane" maquette I sculpted for "The Dark Night Rises" for Christopher Nolan. I also sculpted the full size head on Tom Hardy's lifecast which later got scanned." - Mario Torres

"This is a resin, painted cast of a Hulk I sculpted. It was painted by Tim Gore and at Spectral. It was for "The Incredible Hulk." Unfortunately it did not look like this in the movie. It did although, look more like this in "The Avengers." Yes!" - Mario Torres

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

The Dark Knight Rises was directed by Christopher Nolan, from a screenplay written by Christopher and Jonathan Nolan. The cast included: Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John "Robin" Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul.

So glad they didn't use that first Banr top/vest, looks too 'military gimp' like. But damn, this guy has serious talent, great find!

Looks a lot better than the finished Hulk we got in 2008, yet somehow lesser than Lee's Hulk. Avengers Hulk is definitely the best design thus far, though.

I honestly loved the Incredible Hulk's Hulk design. I can still remember the first time I saw the trailer. Just seeing that scene of Hulk and Abomination about to brawl sent chills down my spine! The Hulk in Avengers was great as well. I 'm sure as technology progresses over the next few years and we receive another Hulk we'll say we prefer that one better than Avengers. It's an ongoing process:

The Hulk in THE AVENGERS is the best live action version of him to date. Hands down.

I think that Tom Hardy should have bulked up more and then leaned out more, as well. I've been saying that since the movies release and this sculpture only further verifies the truth behind that sentiment. It's more menacing to have an adversary who is physically huge. I would go 15-20 pounds bigger than what the sculpture represents on an actual human being. That would have been a big improvement on the character.
I also would have told everyone who couldn't understand him (with the characters original voice) to go [frick] themselves. The original pitch of the voice made him 100 times more terrifying.

I liked Hardy's Bane but I just wish that they juiced him up more using some CGI.

Thanks @the black nerd

I got a really cool story but the short version is I got in contact with a guy who does this stuff he's got real effing talent...

And the long version is I want to pursue a career in industrial design with all the technologies available (3d printers etc) and something like that may afford me the freedom to do cool stuff like this

"Bane > any marvel studios villain"

To each their own, but WB's watered down Bane would get owned by the likes of Marvel Studio's Malekith, Kurse, Loki, etc. Bane has always been one of my many favorite Batman villains, but without the enhanced strength there was no reason for him to be as intimidating as they tried to make him out to be. I am one who prefers villains with supernatural abilities or powers though. Different strokes.

I actually found Bane intimidating and you felt a sense of threat when Bane had Gotham City under lock down and had his militia terrorize the city. As for his vocals i didnt mind it i thought it was good. I mean his performance was better through his eye's and facial expressions.

I was kind of disappointed that Bane had no venom in TDKR but i bought into the fact that Bane feels no pain from the gas.

I was bussin on Ruffalo and the HULK design, but at the end of the day, Ruffalo was a good Banner and the CGI and design was solid.

I think he could have been a little thinner an more timid tho. Kinda reduces the impact of HULK if Banner looks like he can handle himself and has an assertive attitude.
