New GOTHAM Details; Will Feature Origin Stories For Iconic Villains And Batman WILL Appear

But not until the final episode! Fox have spilled the details on their plans for Gotham, and as well as featuring origin stories for characters like The Riddler, Penguin and The Joker, Bruce Wayne's journey to becoming the Caped Crusader will also be covered. Read on for details!

This is obviously some very exciting news, but we're now forced to wonder whether or not this means that the series takes place in the same world as Batman Vs. Superman. It certainly would be the most sensible option, but you never know! Don't get your hopes up that we'll see any costumes though...at least not immediately. It was also revealed at the panel that the series will focus on younger versions of the villains, building to what they eventually become.What do you guys think?

Hmmm...wasn't this supposed to be just about Gordon or was that just a rumour? But I guess this is cooler! Now do they mean last episode of season 1 or the end of the series as a whole? Because I really don't want to see 9 seasons of Bruce becoming Batman and only wearing the suit for 2 minutes at the end

Now this show has peaked my interest. I loved the Gotham Central series when it was running so hopefully it takes some inspiration from the series.

Ignorant writers. More [frick]ing origin stories? Christ. Also, this premise sounds too much like Smallville, which, while it had it's moments, was often hilariously bad. In fact, the reason Arrow is good is because it is extremely careful about NOT pulling a Smallville. There needs to be something substantial going on parallel to the origin story, a la overarching storylines involving many other characters. Make this show more about Gordon and Gotham PD or take your script back to the shop. Oh, but don't pull an AoS either where it's just a bunch of Gotham PD running around solving silly crimes.

Wasn't this show supposed to be about Jim Gordan and Gotham PD? Showing the city before Batman? I like the idea of showing Batman's origin, but I hope Bruce Wayne is just a recurring character, not a main character.
