Justice Con took place yesterday, and Zack Snyder's Justice League star Joe Manganiello was on hand to share some new details about Ben Affleck's plans for The Batman.
The Bruce Wayne actor penned a screenplay alongside comic book writer Geoff Johns, and after it was recently revealed that the final act featured Batman and Batgirl battling Deathstroke after Slade Wilson systematically destroyed the billionaire's life, it sounds like things would have gotten pretty bloody.
"Some of the regular Batman characters that show up in the films were not going to make it through," Manganiello teased. "It would have been a cleaning house in a lot of ways."
The actor also dropped a few hints about the Deathstroke movie which never became a reality, sharing some insight into what his version of the spinoff looked like.
"It involved Adeline [Kane], the kids, who were going to be young, Wintergreen, Talia [al Ghul]," he revealed. "In my script, there was an origin story for the sword and there were League of Shadows ties and things like that."
"It was more of a Tom Clancy ripped from the headlines sort of story, or even like a Bourne Identity where it was going to be really grounded, and political with military drama as far as what it would take to go from devoting his life to his country for this life he believed in to, you know, having the rug pulled out from underneath him and being stabbed in the back and not knowing who to trust."
That sounds pretty cool, and after seeing Deathstroke push Batman to his limits (likely killing characters like Alfred Pennyworth and perhaps even Commissioner Jim Gordon), it would have been interesting to go back and find out why he was the way he was, and the reason he hated the Dark Knight so much.
