Like it or not, the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement worked, and while we're not banking on #RestoreTheSnyderVerse yielding the same results, some fans remain hopeful they can bring back the original DCEU.
That's why you'll likely continue to see "#RestoreTheAyerCut" pop up on social media, and while it doesn't sound like there are any plans to share the director's original version of Suicide Squad, what about The Batman? We know that Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson's movie is being released next year, but once upon a time, Ben Affleck was supposed to star in and direct the project.
In that, his Caped Crusader was going to battle Deathstroke, but the movie wasn't cancelled by Warner Bros.; instead, Affleck walked away from the project, likely because of the negative reception to the DC movies he starred in (which definitely hurt his career) and Joss Whedon's Justice League reshoots.
Discovery recently acquired WarnerMedia from AT&T, and the #MakeTheBatfleckMovie hashtag has returned after originally trending in April.
Affleck has shown a willingness to return as Batman after taking part in reshoots for Zack Snyder's Justice League and agreeing to reprise the role of the Dark Knight in The Flash. However, it's hard to say what fans are hoping to achieve with this latest campaign, especially as it's unclear whether Affleck has any sort of interest in directing and starring in his own solo outing (we're guessing he doesn't).
Time will tell what this leads to, but for now, be sure to share your #MakeTheBatfleckMovie thoughts below!
