@Maximus101 tdkr=good movie for sure, but movie of the year I thinks not. Theres a little film currently playing that has critical and box office success with all kinds of records broken and still being broken ;)

I wonder if the time could change slightly though? Nolan did say it was "almost done" last night, but sure they're just finishing cgi, etc., but sure some final edits could happen...

@ coloso
The Dark Knight was a better movie than Avengers. Avengers was fun, but hardly memorable. Aside from a few scenes with hulk and some funny jokes. Other than that the entire final battle felt like a slightly enhance version of transformers, loci was a poor excuse for a challenging villain, the action scenes were mostly entirely random explosions with a few standout moments. The dialgue was good, but mostly cliches (dark knight had its fair share, but not as many), and there was nothing radically different from other action movies (aside from having a bunch of super heros, which is kind of like expendables, just with better characters and jokes)

@coloso Don't mind him, he preaches his movie of the year nonsense in literally every post.

@darkbeefinjection The Avengers wasn't memorable? ....Hahahahaha....good stuff sir, good stuff.

And Loki was a split second away from killing Thor. I'd say that's more threatening than getting your ass handed to you by the joker and a couple dogs.
darkbeefstakes
darkbeefstakes - 6/4/2012, 4:23 PM
Thor cant die, half of those heroes can't die, and loki couldnt do anything about that. There was no threat
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 6/4/2012, 4:26 PM
Well in comic books Thor would've easily survived that. I'm not so sure about the movie universe. Loki even says the humans think us immortal before he drops him.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 6/4/2012, 4:27 PM
And in that case only 2/6 couldn't die. Hulk and Thor.

darkbeefstakes - 6/4/2012, 4:32 PM
I liked the movie im just saying i never ws scared of loki, or for the life of any of the characters i cared about (the superhero ones). Even Coulsen's death had very little emotion. Rachel death had a lot more impact on the story in the dark knight, and th eonly reason it lacked emotion is because gylynhaal is ass ugly and has an annoying voice (i was praying theyd kill her off).

I mean he's [frick]ing Batman, with preparation he can supposedly beat any one with planning and he didn't want to bring tranquillizers after getting mauled earlier in the movie? ....see I can do it too.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 6/4/2012, 4:35 PM
Rachel's death had literally no impact for me. She was a selfish twat. I seriously wanted to clap when she died.

batmanmovie2012 - 6/4/2012, 4:37 PM
@darkbeefstakes I agree about the action scenes they were just to Micheal Bay like for my taste. However Loki was an awesome villain.

@maximus101 Hell ya this is the film of the year maybe even decade
darkbeefstakes
darkbeefstakes - 6/4/2012, 4:39 PM
I dont understand, are you pointing out a plot hole, or pointing out that batman is invincible. Either way your sarcasm doesnt make sense. AT least dark knight was unpredictable. The only unpredicatabel things in avengers was the eye removal thing, hulk loki smash, and hulk punch thor... Dark knight had skyhook, pencil trick, rachel die, entire bank heist scene, how harvey turned into twoface, ferry boat (i didnt like ferry boat scene, but still was not expecting it), joker invading the party and killing mayor and judge. Just about every scene was unexpected and unpredictable.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 6/4/2012, 4:39 PM
I will agree though, it affected Bruce more than Coulson effected the avengers but that doesn't mean shit to the audience now does it. It's the audience that is supposed to give a shit.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 6/4/2012, 4:43 PM
All I seen coming with the avengers was them winning. Just like Batman does every movie.

@Mr.Reese That's supposed to happen. Batman getting worked physically by the joker, not so much.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 6/4/2012, 4:47 PM
Either way, I guess I just prefer less Shakespeare in my super hero movies, and it's looking like most people do as well. I want to be completely entertained because when it comes down to it, that's what you want out of a movie.
darkbeefstakes
darkbeefstakes - 6/4/2012, 4:50 PM
im entertained by things im not expecting. Avengers had some of that (and i will def buy it on bluray when it is released) but dark knight had more.
MrReese
MrReese - 6/4/2012, 4:58 PM
@GiantNerd0720 Haha =) Can't argue with u there bud.I really didn't like the ending of TDK, it just prolonged the movie. After my third viewing of the movie I would walk out of the theater.LOL
As for the unexpectedness I'd rather expect the unexpected. =)
MrReese
MrReese - 6/4/2012, 5:02 PM
also Lokis defeat was rather swift.
IgnurRant
IgnurRant - 6/4/2012, 5:39 PM
Hahaha and lets not forget that Dr Selvig was more a hero than all of the Avengers combined. He had enough will power to subconciously plant a fail safe to close the portal.

The Avengers caused more harm then good LOL Lets take this intergalactic criminal aboard our spaceship despite the fact he wants to get caught! But lets fight each other instead, as he watches on and chooses not to escape. Fun movie. Silly plot.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 6/4/2012, 7:27 PM
@Mr.Reese Lol. It just bothers me when people talk down about the avengers because I think it really was a great achievement for CBMs.

@Ignurant I think putting him in a cage meant for hulk was a pretty good plan. They insinuated the staff was making them act that way. Then the explosion near the hulk set him off and shit really got out of hand.
