My heart goes out to the fans that just wanted to see the movie and now are dead due to this sick f-ck. He didn't even have enough guts to take himself out. What a complete piece of sh-t.

My deepest condolences go out to all the victims of his horrific incident. They also go out to the gunman's parents once his name is released to the public, it is a tragic, senseless crime, on innocent adults and children. I was never the biggest believer in organized religion, but hearing about this makes me want to believe for the victims sake that they are somewhere better watching TDKR right now.

RIP to all the victims:

Also I haven't read all of the comments on the other thread, but the ones I did seemed for the most part to be respectful and very touching. I'm proud of the CBM community for being mature about this, and for all those that make tasteless jokes about this I hope you are banned, and never have the chance to rejoin.

It really is disgusting how we live in a world were people can't even attend simple things like a BBQ or a movie without getting shot at. These kinds of "people" need to be destroyed like the cancer they are.

I agree Intruder, I had to stop watching. The stories were too depressing. Anyway I'm glad you are going to see the film, although too be honest I wish they were under more positive circumstances, so it's hard for me to get that excited about it. On a more positive not I don't expect you to like it all that much, to be honest I saw it again this morning, and I'm a little mixed on it. I was a little blinded by the whole experience of seeing it early and I need to see it one more time (probably sometime later this week), to fully figure out how I feel. Anyway I don't want to discuss the movie right now, but I do look forward to this site returning back to normal.

One of the last Tweets by a young lady who was killed tonight was about nothing but excitement for the movie. I still cannot wrap my head around this, this is just tragic and devastating.

God Bless all of the victims and their families in Colorado. What a sad, sad event. This criminal struck a crowd of innocent people coming together in excitement to enjoy something wonderful, and he tore it all to shreds and destroyed the lives of so many.

To those in Paris, I recommend not canceling the premiere, but I understand. I think we should never bow down to the fear of monsters such as this. The best we can do is minimize the reach of their hatred and heinous acts. Shutting down the Paris premiere gives this sick bastard more self-gratification. But again, I understand.

@intothepoop Couldn't agree more. There is something about the movies. That's where we go to escape the messed up world we live in. But now that is threatened.

I just woke up to this news... the first thing I thought of the shooter is that he's some fanboy nutjob who's intent was to prevent TDKR from beating the Avengers box office records. With the lunacy we see in comments from some of these fanboys, it's certainly a possibility. I hope it's not the case. Whatever his intent, he is the extreme, not the norm... don't let his mental instability cloud your minds.

Terrible tragedy, taking advantage of an exploitable situation. I heard the guy was wearing a gas mask, clearly messed up in the head. It's such a shame after TDK that TDKR is now also marred by tragedy =(

I regret enormously for all the victims and their families. And I understand that many of you will not enjoy the movie tonight as they should do. The only little positive side of living in Italy is that maybe when I see the movie, on August 29, I'll manage to take away these images from my head

@marantaz

This isn't comic book movie related. I just think he wanted to use the popularity of the films midnight opening to carry out his sick and twisted deed.

This is going to completely change midnight premiers of movies, and wouldn't be surprised if they over react and start to check bags and not allow people to bring fake weapons (like caps shield or thors hammer) and start having strict rules about dressing up to premiers. This one guy just ruined the fun and innocence of mid night premiers, and that is very sad.

Don't say something crazy lke that.

The killer is just [frick]ed up and would have done it anyway.

He tried to surf on an important event to get more publicity.
