Christian Bale Confirms That He's Screen-Testing With Actresses For TDKR!

The rumours of numerous actresses being up for a role in The Dark Knight Rises have been doing the rounds for months, but Batman himself has now confimed that he's doing screen-tests with several unnames actresses soon...

I came across what I think is a pretty interesting quote from the actor tucked away in an article over at Vulture about the National Board of Review Awards. The rumours about God knows how many actresses being in the running for a role in the highly anticipated third installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies have been around so long, I honestly cannot remember if anyone officially involved with the movie has ever confirmed their authenticity. Well, now Christian Bale himself has.

Even Christian Bale came off well — he joked that he's found his The Fighter role so hard to shake that the actresses he's about to screen-test opposite for The Dark Knight Rises "will be the first to get to see Dickie as Batman")

Nothing too exciting I know, but despite the jokey context of this quote, it surely adds some more weight to the news that Chris Nolan is hoping to pick up one or two well known actresses for major roles in the next movie. The question of who exactly that'll be remains. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012!

Bat-spank, LMAO!

This movie is going to be awesome. I'm still hoping for a Penguin/Deadshot teamup. Black Mask and Bane would be fine too though.

I wonder which female character will get into this film...either- Selina Kyle, Vickie Vale OR Talia. I'm thinking it'll be Talia and Vickie.

BATSPANK!!xD lol

Amy Adams or Emily Blunt would make a great Vicki Vale if she is in the movie
Marion Cotillard or Eva Green as Talia

He is one of the best actors around and has been since Empire of the Sun. We are lucky to have him portray Batman. I know this movie will be amazing and all I ask is that he tones down that voice a bit.

@BruceWayneNewton- Yes, Bale is a [frick]ING GREAT actor! =)

I mean I remember one film i think it was called "The Machinist" he lost like over half of his body weight for the role! Then he gained it all back plus packed on some extra muscle for his role in "Batman Begins" so like with Heath...Christian Bale is the type of actor who goes ALL OUT for the role and literally BECOMES the character he portrays.

Christian Bale will forever be Batman. No need to reboot in my opinion...we have our Batman ;)

I just hope that Eva Green isn't in it. I just figured out why I dont like her. She looks like a bigger breasted version of my ex-wife. God I hate that woman.

If Bale wins an Oscar for his role in The Fighter, can he ask for more money or re-up his contract for TDKR? Heck, I would if I were he! Also, I hope they redo the suit again. @patriautism..I found him with Empire of the Sun.

@GUNSMITH: Two of my favorite ladies and both of em are my first picks of all the women rumored for a role...mmmhhhmmmm... thanks, pal.

Christian Bale was amazing in The Fighter. I hope he AT LEAST gets nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

@JOSH: Good work in finding this, man! People can now at least shut up about these rumors, although, we still have to speculate on who they will be playing! The anticipation is killing me!

Haha, thanks guys! :D I'm afraid that I've got no idea where that panel originated from...I just came across it on Google and thought it would be a fun way of livening up a piece of news that's not really all that amazing! Here's hoping that Nolan decides to include that scene in TDKR!

My brother works at Lin (L1N) Productions, which is a production company affiliated with Warner Brothers, and it's confirmed that the screen tests are for the role of ***SPOILER****

Talia al Ghul.

Also, apparently Nolan is trying to convince WB to let him kill off Batman as an act of martyrdom to complete the trilogy. From what I hear, Nolan is cognizant of the fact that every film, license, franchise etc. is getting remade or reboot, and Nolan really wants to seal his stamp on Batman and leave the trilogy as a self-contained series.... i.e., he doesn't want subsequent film makers to muddy his work.... despite the fact that everything is getting rebooted these days, there's concern that the "casual film-goer" will not realize that the NEXT Batman movie (after TDKR) will NOT be made by Nolan.... so the only way to ensure that Nolan's work is only contained in the BB:TDK:TDKR trilogy, he has to kill off Batman.

That way, when the NEXT Batman movie comes out, the ignorant film goers will say "Wasn't Batman killed off in the last one?", only to be answered with "Yes, but they're rebooting it now with a new director, cast, crew etc."
