Tom Hardy Says Bane's Voice Came From "The Silly Door"

Tom Hardy talks about the voice of Bane and also comments on working with Christian Bale at the London premiere of The Dark Knight Rises.

Tom Hardy says that you could go down the line and have a straight villain or you could open the silly door - which he says came with Bartley Gorman's voice (a more detailed answer on Bartley Gorman HERE). He also says Christian Bale brings integrity and quality to the roles he plays - and says they are both very serious about what they do but at the same time they try not to take themselves too seriously.

Bane was the best villain since the joke. Voice took a bit of time to get use to but was epic and scary throughout. Anytime he took the scene everyone in the cinema was in a state of shock.

By repeat viewing the problems of the movie are all answered.

1) Nowhere in the movie does it say Batman has a broken back. He has a dislocation of a disc but not a proper broken back.... even the doctor says that in the pit. The assumption is that his back is broken from the comics and that Bane mentions 'which one will break first, the body or the spirit'. Nothing about the back being broken. Equally to note Nolan had created his version of the Lazarus Pit which regrowth both mentally and physically happens and even the link to the spirit realm by Bruce Wayne seeing and talking to Ra Al Ghul. The Lazarus pit Helps Bruce to heal faster in Nolan's Universe......

This interpretation of Bane was the best I've ever seen, and he's my favorite villain in TDK trilogy.

It was hard to make out a few of the things he said, but when you understood him he was electrifying.

When his mask get's damaged at the end and he goes berserk, I don't think anyone could have stood up to him at that point other than the Batman.

Bane was lame. Why? Taking over Gotham was never HIS plan. All that prep, all that genius was pure Talia. What does that make Bane then? Just a lacky with lines. That's it. I don't care that he broke Bruce. Bruce was stupid to wander into enemy territory without scouting it first, and he relied on a villain to help him(although that scene in the tunnel with the muzzle flash was friggin' sweet). Seemed like Bats conveniently forgot he had gadgets whenever he when up against Bane.

"& when you finally understood the depth of ur failure We will fulfill Ra's Al Ghul's destiny"

"But we r initiated aren't we Bruce.Members of The League of Shadows & You Betrayed Us."

Sounds 2 me like Bane really believed in Ra's Al Ghul's methods so I don't really think makes him a lacky.XD

@AlSimmons: the way i see it they planned it together. plus, he was skilled enough to beat batman the first time around. Also, he seems to be more independent minded than talia perhaps thinks because at the end she specifically tells him NOT to kill batman and right after she left he tells batman that he has to kill him now.

Bane's voice took some getting used to. I think seeing him, I was expecting a deep Darth Vader-like voice, so hearing his high-pitched voice with that accent was a little shocking. I didn't think it fit his look. But it sounds like Tom Hardy played it that way on purpose.
